Well said shiv, is like I does always say, MS don't be watching 2-3 years ahead, men does be watching 10-15 years down d road, PlayStation plus wouldn't exist today if MS didn't pioneer Xbox Live.

MS does be in it for d long haul, more vision, takes more risks, they does rarely take the "safe" road. And history has proven that it works for them in the end, sans d bumps in the road along the way.

At the end of the X1 lifecycle, entertainment features will be the defacto standard for all consoles.

I just tend to take most things now with the requisite grains of salt. Blind acceptance is folly...especially for your wallet.

MS Rep said Kinect is not always on, and you can turn off your xbox and Kinect totally.
As far as tracking what shows you're interested in and tailoring content to you, gmail has been doing that for years and people don't seem to mind. Having said that, MS currently tracks usage in zune/xbox music to recommend artists to u based on what u listen to most, but u can disable the feature if u want. So im sure there will be a disable switch on the xbox one for ppl who don't want that, since the tracking features is part of your Live profile and not the xbox itself. Of cause most people wont know to go in their profile and take that off lol.

So I wouldn't say that's a "massive shitbomb"

Ah Messiaah. That's the rub.

If there is some truth to it....like you just said....the competition will leverage that to make a stink bomb against the xbox one.

Incidentally, I overheard a 14 year old kid yesterday saying he was going to buy a PS4. Curious...I asked why not the xbox one?

He cited the always online issue as well as the inability to play used games.

The negative press is already starting to have an impact on customers and influencing their buying decisions.

He is just one kid but still, I think MS needs to change the story around fast.

E3 can't come soon enough.

Funny you mention 14 year old.

I doing a migration for a school right now, and students was cycling in and out of the i.t. lab.
7-8 year olds, when they see my Surface they was like, "WOW, COOL, is that the new Microsoft Tablet, hey guys looks, its the Microsoft tablet" "wooowww", etc etc lol.

And whiles walking through the school with it, various teahers was asking me if it's good because their kids asking them for one.

I tell that little tale to say that marketing is extremely important, and MS clearly doing something right in the marketing department, if 7-8 year olds know what the surface is and want it. So I think MS will be just fine with the xbox one. If they bring the games at e3, u know they going to market the xbox one HARD. and their marketing efforts in the US is going to trump the playstation. So for right now MS taking a hit for their conference, but once they bring d games at e3, and market it, that same 14 year old will be buying an xbox one.

MS internet target is to own the majority of the Windows Tablet market with surface products in the next few months, and they plant o maintain a market share lead over all their OEMs. And I already seeing evidence of that based on their marketing campaign.

It's amazing the effect the media has on the success or failure of a product. And yes MS needs to change the perception of the Xbox One FAST!, which is why I think they wait right before E3 to do this.
So they soon going to spin things around, they already release a few statements (as I posted in d video above), to try weather the tide until E3.

The good thing is, PS4 not available for sale, nor will it be anytime soon, MS have time to organize they business.

Also and this is as best as I know TnT is a PS dominated market. There are 'more' PS3 owners than Xbox 360 owners and custom is to stick to what you know. So the PSfanboys will be inclined to stick to the PS4 and the Xbox etc. I for one being a seasoned gamer will wait to see which platform offers me what I want and need, but truth is for those trinis that saying I buying X because of Y when X and Y are drops in the ocean aka NO REAL INFORMATION in hand I just doh take it on and definitely doh take on no lil chirren, cause is the parents that have to buy it.

Suppose Xbox 1 @ E3 give parents via glass complete visibility into what is going on the console (just hypothetical) and they SELL this to parents wanting to have some control over the content their children have access to, anytime, anywhere, wouldn't that be a selling point to parents that utlimately have the final say? This is just a single example do don't jump on the 'chirren does decided for parents motif' Point is until E3 all the banter is just useless. And all the talk about negative image, what's the cliche saying? There is NO bad publicity?

Good points W1nTry, it's exactly why the Wii dramatically outsold ps3/xbox 360.
Not because of hard core gamers. Is because parents see it advertising and it appeal to them to buy it for their kids. The casual market / parents is not to be underestimated. If MS win that market and still provide hard core games, boy, is GG no Re.

For a 6 - 8 year old...the parent will no doubt make the call on which console to buy.

Not so for a 14 - 15 year old.

He will get what he wants or there will be hell to pay.

Take it from a father of one.

I guarantee you that kid in question will get a PS4 and I can also guarantee you his parents won't be watching E3 either.

W1ntry is right on one point for certain, Trinidad is PS3 country. Probably by a factor of 10 to 1.

Lots of reasons why Microsoft lost the battle here in our twin island republic (which maybe a discussion for another thread) so they will have their work cut out for them trying to sway trini public opinion in their favor.

I'm certain if E3 changes the story around they will be a huge hit in the states and that is where the $$ really is either way.

In regards to the trini market, yes, ms don't really care, trini is a blackberry dominated market, but blackberry still dropping dramatically. US and UK is where the big money is for tech and entertainment.
