Competetive FPS Nostalgia!
« on: February 10, 2012, 12:39:23 PM »
I really enjoy Listening to GATT Talks on Mumble.....

Lets Just say it's a wide range of Topics....From Lawsuits to Naruto!  :happy0203:

One Particular Discussion was the Popularity in Trinidad of Soldier of Fortune 2 and Counterstrike (amongst other games)

I let it be Known I'm never Played SOF2....I'm more of a Quake 3 arena/Unreal Tournament player.

So i'm asking a Question....Whats allyuh Competitive FPS of yesteryear?

What were your favourite memories in said games?

Mine was playing a Fatal1ty in an early Online game ( public and random) and trying not to die to him....Could have been someone else....but that name inspired Fear!!

Another was My first Rail gun kill on Xaero stage..against a guy going for the BFG....Sweet Sweet Gibs!!  :yay:

definitely had the most fun playing Quake 3 CTF

That was a riotous experience. Played a lot of great games since then but nothing quite matched the frenetic pace and excitement of that capture the flag.

Playing MOHAA whey back when. Especially in the Ruined Churchyard stage, place was dead quiet until sniper shots start firing from all over de place :D. Also Quake 3 ( DM17 :O ) and Half Life multi-player.

I'm probably on of the few who have never played much online FPS until COD4. Played some Quake back in the day but not competitively. I did however start league racing back in 1997-98.

MohAA and SOFII in euro+ every Saturday evening when Triniblocker was a lil boy, CoD1 on countless maps in Fantasy V almost every evening, UT and Quake 3 before that.

My first clear memory of thoroughly enjoying any fps game was of UT original multiplayer online.

Back then, all you needed was a dial up connection to enjoy (thats all there was anyway). Good times, good times.
