So I was in quandary about wheter to get a nook or a kindle touch, when the Miami wife decided it for my by gifting me the nook.
I must say, I'm glad i didnt take the kindle... rooted and running android 2.1, i'm loving it soo very much...

Google 'Phiremod'.  That's what I installed on my brother's Nook.  It's a CM7 derivative, and smooth as butter.

A kindle man myself but the nook has always been a strong contender.

I like the kindle only because it is dog cheap and I can carry it anywhere without having to be overly concerned if it gets left behind/stolen.

It loses squarely against most any other modern reader like the ipad 2, nook and slate of android tablets (see what I did there?)

My wife has a nook color. I know this is blasphemy but a bunch of my friends got ipads for Christmas, after using them I want one too :/

The Ipad 2 has been the #1 tablet by reviewers the world over up until very very recently. The Asus Transformer Prime just barely beating it out of top spot.

My wife has one and while I still don't see myself using a tablet (beyond the kindle for reading books) I can firmly appreciate what all the fuss is about. Especially with the ladies.
