It was good but I felt it sort of lost its way after the half way mark.

In the beginning you got a good taste of trust and betrayal (which was great) but in the second half you got a lot of Rurouni Kenshin (which was less stellar than its OVA counterpart)

Left to me, I would have just done a Real Life remake of Trust and Betrayal rather than split efforts across the TV series. It was like trying to serve two masters.

Still, a solid 7.5 wondering samurai out of 10

Pound for pound the BEST anime-to-live-action transition EVER. If anyone disagrees with that, PLEASE recommend me a better one.

The gattling scene was done a lot better in the anime tbh.

The show overall was great! Just some of those scenes could have been omitted altogether.

Then why bother making a Kenshin flick without one of the most memorable Opium dealers in the Manga and Anime let alone all the main characters to begin with?

Why should it be only bout the Battousai when its about not only him but Kaoru, Yahiko, Sanosuke, Saito and Megumi? That's the point of bringing each major an memorable story arc from the anime into the movie, Jinei Udo, Kanryu Takeda, Hajime Saito.

To me this movie focuses on him being the Wandering Samurai meeting his new friends and allies than mainly focus on him during the Revolution.

If they should tackle that they should do a prequel or bring it up in the live action series (hope it still gets greenlit)

I think you misunderstood.

They can include all of those but just NOT include the absolutely ridiculous scenes which can be jarring to look at.
Spoiler (hover to show)

90% of it was done really well, it is just those ridiculous scenes (not the characters) that make you go "wtf"

I'm actually wary of them doing a prequel....Trust and Betrayal is absolutely perfect. It doesn't need to be touched at all. Immortalized as the greatest anime ever. lol

Would love to see a sequel, bring on ShiShio.

So basically you just want Kenshin, minus all the comedic parts that made it the series popular? I think if they made that decision, it would have turned a lot of fans away from it. The cheesiness gave it that anime feel I think.

I think a Trust and Betrayal prequel would be awesome if done right, with the Shisho arc spanning 2 movies thereafter. Just imagine seeing Soujiro and Kenshin fighting at high speeds mixed in with Matrix-esque slow-mo.

*Sigh* One can only dream.

I just didn't like how Jinei Udo was mixed up in that Arc with the Aoshi Arc. Personally i was looking forward to seeing Aoshi untill i realized what they had done to the story.
Now hands down its the best Live action to date i enjoyed it alot but it felt very rushed *given that its a movie i understand tho* the characters didn't develop that strong bond yet among each other. A live action series of this is more than welcomed in my opinion

@ Rage, The comedic parts didn't make it popular with me, which is why I hold "Trust & Betrayal" in higher regard than the series.....by FAR.

Tell me, how do you rate "Trust & Betrayal"...out of 10?

@ Rebirth, totally agree!

Trust & Betrayal was amazing. I'd give it a solid 9 outta 10. Still remember the first time seeing it at Anime City so many years ago.

then as i said if you want Trust and Betrayal do it as a Prequel, they decide to follow the Manga an the Anime an in return they got a financial success an hopefully a sequel and a tv series, they just cant throw away what made Rurouni Kenshin (anime and manga) memorable just to make a movie only about Himura the Battousai during the Revolution.

P.S I also consider T/B the best Kenshin anime film

SPEAKING OF SEQUEL!!!
