This could be a great way to try out a game before you buy it.

Works out to roughly $100 TT per month.

My only problem is the time to actually play any game I rent.  Pressure.  :ko:

US$15 a month??

That's like 4 games on steam.

I won't have time to play those that I already purchased, let alone rent more.

I'll pass

this aint for steam tho.....its for consoles.....................................................

there have been some epic sp games ive passed up due to them having little to no replay value once beaten so this is actually something that might interest me alot, me and a friend were talkin about this not too long ago and wondered if someone would do it or if it would even work

i wont take  a month to beat a sp game so it come like i gettin the game for 100 a month to fully enjoy the sp experience and then pass it along.

Selling used games to sheltech is a waste of money and u dont get back alot on ur initial investment u always losing more than $100 even if u sell 2nd hand to someone else anyway

Skyrim
Batman (both of em)
MW3 (sp)

just to name a few are on my want list but no replay value (no i dont play cod mp)

I dont think there should be a 'cost involved'.
There are collaborative consumption efforts all the time.
It takes some measure of trust, but it can work...

UNless we're talking a system where we consistently put in x amt of dollars per month, and have that $ used to buy the latest games based on 'membership rating' and yuh begin. but when u look at games like skyrim that take a bajillion hrs to play.. 1 copy eh go whet everybody appetite, and if i have to wait 6months i.e 6x amt of dollars i might as well buy it mehself.

What my concern about this is why it's being payed for in USD and not TT? I supposed it is some marketing ploy of course, $15 looks more appealing than $100. There's also the matter of security, how my personal info is being stored and used. Always skeptical about that.

We also find that, at least from personal observations as well as those from others, people in Trinidad tend to stick to 1 genre of game. 2 or 3 for the rare cases. A man that plays fifa, will mainly play fifa. Someone who is into fighters will play his respective fighter. Same thing with shooters or racers. Be honest with yourself, MOST of us stick to one or the other. Rarely do u find a gamer who crosses genres and invests large amounts of time equally across the board. So you already have or will buy the game you love and play the most.

What would be good to know is the market research they did for such a venture. In the US its viable since you have not hundreds or thousands but millions of gamers. Here we amount to a couple thousand, most of which are scattered across 4 platforms. The PC goers wouldn't go for this service cuz well, there are other means to acquire games. Modded console users as well. So hmmmm....

virtue, when you say PC gamers have other means to acquire games? What are you alluding too?

Same question for the modded consoles? What exactly are you hinting at??

As for Mez's suggestion. I think it is a brilliant one...and it was an idea someone brought up a while ago but we never put it into motion.

A GATT game club, where the games are loaned out for free amongst trusted members.

Most games have an 8 - 10 hour campaign. I am sure with 20 - 30 of us, we can easily build a library of the best games and pass  'em around.

Not sure if its entirely legal.....but seeing as this website is doing the same thing, but charging for it.....maybe it is.

Where our legal aid?

Cool idea, I have used similar services while in the US. Honestly though in Trinidad I'd prefer to just use a dvd/video club that rented out games. Is there any local club that rents out console games?

I don't think Virtue meant anything shady, pc has a great distribution platform with Steam where most titles are available digitally. Consoles still rely mainly on discs with only a few of the new titles available digitally.

I don't think it is illegal, how different is that GATT club from lending a friend a game? Once you aren't making copies of the game I don't see how it could be illegal.
