I absolutely despise these threads.

I like the Dreamcast because it has SF 3rd Strike.  But that'll soon come out on ps2 so there I am.

I'd like to consider myself as a fighting game enthusiast, and I could tell you that the GameCube and the X-box's controllers are by far the WORST types of control for a fighting game.
Lord help me if I pull of a Fatality precisely in Deadly Alliance for the X-Box [I hit a diagonal instead far too often], and I simply shudder to think that any Capcom Street Fighter title is remotely PLAYABLE on that contraption they call a controller.

Give me a PS2 anyday.

the PS2 has a vey fast processor, it is a 270mhz with a 128 bit floating point unit and memory managment unit which processes more than an Xbox's pentium III 733mhz but it has a lame graphics processor which supports an ancient version of openGL, no pixel shaders and limited vertrex shaders. It is also limited by only 32mb of shared ram

the Gamecube has a 400 mhz processor with 64bit floating point and MMU . The processor is probably just as fast as the PIII in the Xbox . The graphics chip is similar to an ATi radeon 7500. It supports a fairly recent openGL , bump mapping etc. it has 40mb of shared ram

the Xbox has a 733mhz PIII optemized for games, it has a graphics chip similar to a geforce 3 in nature, it supports DX8 , pixel shaders, vertrex shaders, bump mapping etc. it has 64mb of shared ram running through Hyper Transport [ same system used on athlonXp/athlon64s] to give 6.4gb/s [ dual DDR 400 ]

The playstation 2 has the best selection of fighting and RPG games

the  gamecube has the best selection of platform games

the Xbox has the best selection of FPS games and sports games .

I have all 3 as well. I still have no preference. On minute i like PS2, next XBOX, next GCN. I have a GBA and GBASP as well. Each one dread in its own right. I not going to choose.
