Well I have started building my xmas project, just going to post progress pics and some explanation as I go along.

Thermaltake Element V full tower ( chopped and modded )
Gigabyte Z68 Board
i7 2600k CPU
12GB ddr3
OCZ Agility 2 SSD
AMD HD 6990 Videocard
eVGA 9800GTX+ Phys-X
1000w PSU

Water Cooling:

Koolance 6990 Full Block

i imagine that 6990 and water-cooling are a large chunk of that. It can be done without the water cooling if you aren't look for too high of an overclock/benchmarks and the system should last quite a while.

that is one of the plans, keep the water loops, change rads and upgrade as time progress..

mask off the side panel where i am going to cut out a window and add in a full view with plexi glass.




also got primoflex white tubing and a few NZXT sleeved cables

markings for cut outs..



time to get rid of these damn wires... from panel connections?? was that??? lol




the entire top just pops off and look!!! plugs...easy removal



burnt audio connection.....damn




saving the side panel connection for powering up the uv cathodes wen the side panel is closed.



placed a spare card in the case for an idea of how big the thermaltake element v really is



time to cut out the fan grill for airflow..........................um..i need a jig for this..case is ballz to cut

reservoir popped in for a test fit everything looks good....




NOT REALLY!! none of the screw hole line up..so i will be fabricating a mounting bracket




one of the 240 rads under the reservoir




so there is another problem..the hdd bay wont go back in...




look who is helping uncle scrap a psu for a grill




started making the hdd bay from 3 too 2 drives.. where the SSDs will sit




and it fits!

and the last for now....the holes started for the cable management.. drill battery died :(

i had to pry it off!!





thermal pad that came with the koolance block



placed on block ( pain in the ass )



ok so that is finally over..the card weight almost 5lbs with this thing again

now a mock up of the rad for the front ( push and pull ) , how will i mount this now??



i know i know!.... old case i got some back plates from...cut then to size
