OH btw Mez. You may want to take off the intel turbo boost feature. I remember redfish's CPU hittin 80 C cuz of it automatically O/C the cpu. Make sure you keep an eye on those temps, more importantly on the GPU.

80C on ah i5 2500k, that's some crazy temps they. Most i does get without AC on and room temp 39-40C is 60-63C while running bf3 and my intel turbo boost on.

Yea, it's because that stock cooler is ballz for suck a beastly cpu and for some reason it was set to Turbo Boost up to 4.6GHz so that resulted in the temps virtue stated.

All safe now as it now off and it may also have to do with not having that extra fan for the airflow I want in my case. Once you know what you want just observe yuh temps as Hard O/C stated.

Shivanandrs: http://3dmark.com/3dmv/3561534

Syncrod: http://3dmark.com/3dmv/3665101

The 2 of them have the same GPU as you, well of course u have the 3gb version. Notice the clocks are different more specifically the core clocks. Yours is running at 772 Mhz opposed to their 900 Mhz.

Well of course they have i7's so that's their trump card over you atm but once u have the cooling, you can break 4.2 Ghz on ur CPU. What i'm getting at is your GPU score should be higher than what it is. Keep in mind though, the higher the clocks on the GPU while under load, the hotter its going to run. Turn your room into an ice box for sage measures lol

weak wireless.

wire ftw

or you could move your PC closer to the internet connection within comfortable reach of a cat5e patch cord in the interim if you're truly hard core. lol

Did you try changing the channel your wireless is on though? That should reduce some interference.

Trials and tribulations.
So in migrating my pc to a new case, and installing a new OD CPU heatsink,
the heatsink was blocking ram slot 1.
so the decision was made to try and remove the heatsink from the ram in slot 1 so that it could fit.
its the corsair vengeance ram, with the big blue heatsink.
so.. in removing the heatspreaders from the ram.. one of the chips was ripped off.
I'm upset ofc, its partly my fault but either way. They are talking about repairing and i'm wondering if to say eff it, get a replacement one.

ouch

that sucks

luckily, ram is cheap. I'd say go for a replacement.

Wouldn't dare do anything so adventurous myself as trying to remove heat spreaders from DDR3 sticks. I'd use the stock cooler on the cpu and leave the ram as is.

Especially with an already over powered rig like yours.

...which is more than enough mind you, but I know how you're feeling.

Saxman is supposed to have a single Vengeance stick of 4 GB DDR3.  Not sure of the color, or speed though.

And this is why I went for the Vengeance low profile version.  I said it before: those tall heat spreaders are of poor quality!

and yes, I do have a single Blue Vengeance 4GB stick I can sell you.
