Aight, So I'm in the market for a snazzy new PC.
Rules of Engagement
I do not need - Case, Keyboard, Mouse (gonna get that ish here)
Specifications: 19+ inch screen
8+ gigs of ram (12 to make me feel speshul)
and an i7 Processor.
an SSD for the OS (Dont need much else, have lots of external storage and I can always purchase a HD later on)
Budget = in the vicinity of $7,500 TT - $10,000
Would love to see some different options and some rationale as to why you chose 1 over the other.
*Parts can be sourced from numerous places online but ideally it would save $ on Shipping if it were a minimum amt of suppliers.
BEGIN! *watches swarm*

I am at pains to find fault with Hard O/C's choices.
You might want to look at one of
Corsair's Hydro Series CPU coolers, like the H80 or H100.
As for the SSD, look no further than the Crucial M4 128 GB.
It seems like price is not an issue, so have at it.

If you buying a GPU right this second, I'd actually recommend a GTX 580. However, for the price of that single 580, you can get two 6950s, but I only mention that because i'm a staunch advocate of 'bang-for-buck'. Still...running multiple video cards brings with it a whole 'nother set of issues....like ensuring that the power-supply you've chosen is sufficient.
A for sound, I can recommend the Asus Xonar DX...optical, as well as analog outputs. Stellar performance for the price.
I mentioned power supply before, but I'll let others tell you about them Corsair PSUs. Really top-notch kit.

At that budget, I would go with the GTX580 as well (especially after seeing that Physx vid with Batman)
Wouldn't bother with a sound card though.
I'd put that money into 16GB of memory and the biggest size SSD / LCD affordable.
a 23" LCD is meh
For a gaming rig of that calibre, 26" is the mininum to go
28" would be ideal.
The Asus monitor is still a boss and highly recommended (after about a year+ of stellar service)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236047
(out of stock at that link, but from the reviews speak for themselves)
They have a newer model but 16:9 ratio (1080p instead of 1920x1200 max res...better for movies but less stellar for office productivity)
http://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VE276Q-27-Inch-Wide-16/dp/B003UT2C4U/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1319565028&sr=8-3
If you want your screen to double as a TV you can go with the Samsung Touch of Color range with built in tuner but run the risk of import duties and input lag. Due to it being classed as a TV instead of a PC Monitor.

Well I have a TV and a long ass HDMI cord so no i wont need the monitor to double as a TV
AND i have limited *height* on the desk i'm going with so the 19-23" is about the max i can go.

Yesss man, yuh inside.
Consider the
Corsair Hydro H60
as your CPU cooler.
A real no frills approach to liquid cooling...on tha cheap, and you can add another fan later
on to increase its efficiency. That is...if your case has the 120 mm fan mount to hold it.

Well I think I may need a new case ( the original one was generic but i'm not sure if it would fit.)
and apparently there are CPU coolers available here so i skimped on the extras.

Nice specs. The only thing I would have done differently is to go for at least a 128gb ssd. You'll find that after an OS install and a few programs that you'll be almost out of space. Gonna have to install games on regular hdd.
Doh worry there Mez, they all will come in time. Your biggest concern is that everything not coming in one package, thus driving up the skybox prices as each group of items attract their own freight and customs charges.
Other than that, good times.
Also, I hope you getting Battlefield 3 to run with the boys eh.

He already has it from Amazon. The only thing he really needs is someone to help him put it together.
