Tried this out today with a 'client' PC with the following specs...

Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3
Intel Core i7-2600K @ 4.4 GHz
2 x 4 GB DDR3-1333
Nvidia GeForce GTX 650
1600 x 900 AOC monitor

Tried it with GRiD, Borderlands 2, and Far Cry 2, over a wired network connection.

I have to say, I was mighty impressed with the performance.  It was pretty easy to achieve frame-rates at, or above 60 fps.
Granted, the config is a little more robust than your average HTPC, I was curious to find out just how good its been implemented.
Of course, it helps that my main gaming PC (the host) is quite powerful enough, as the game runs on both host and client at the same time.
It also helps that all GPUs involved also support hardware encode and decode.

So you no longer have to build a 'mini-beast' for your living-room.  I'll conduct this same test with some less powerful parts,
but connected to my 1080p TV.  I'll also throw a wireless connection into the mix to see what impact that has.

I'll need to try it with some newer, more GPU-intensive games as well.

I'm both playing it and also learning to play the main theme on my Ocarinas. Platformer/adventure fans do have a look at it. Have fun with getting out of the 1st dungeon, because as of this post i'm getting my butt whupped trying to escape, and it's a good pain.
