You have some old information there Czar.  

The 9800SE costs MUCH less than a 9700 Pro. That statement would only be true if the card was as expensive as that.....luckily it is CHEAPER than the 9600XT and hence why it is now a \"Best Buy\".

Could well be, I don't keep track of card prices until I'm getting ready to buy one, just that I saw this appended to the latest buyer's guide on AnandTech and thought I'd quote it just in case.

Lets begin physics leason in terms of processors .
Item number 1 surface area of die . Over the year the total size of the chip has remain mostly the the same . but the actual size of the circuitry for the chip have become smaller . thereby allowing more transistors ontot the chip which rases the amount of heat disapted by the chip.since each transistors gives off heat . when thinking about the 150 million transistor in the p4 prescott core that alot of heat .the larger surface area come in terms of the heat sinks need since they keep getting bigger and bigger to cool the processors .now the clock issuse come in terms of having the number of transistors need to perform function fast therefore more transistors = more clock in theory . but more transistors = more heat fact that can never change .
