second best?
steups

mango, what nonsense yu telling the man?

dont ever be fooled, the ps2 has the worst grafix out of the 3, due to its rushed production resulting in inferior hardware and a host of software fixes.

iam not gonna make any reccomendations based on grafix however

you have to know what it is you want out of a gaming system before anyone can recommend something and yu can make a decision.

Lots of things to consider, in particular, you might want to think of what your friends already have, should you buy a system that they have too so that you can borrow games etc, or should you buy one that none of them have so that you add some more flavour to the pot? You also want to consider the relative availability of the games for your system of choice. X-Box and PS2 games are easier to come by down here as opposed to GameCube games...

Personally I'd go with an X-Box, but that's just me. Only you can decide what's best for you, nobody else can really make that call.

i say an Xbox..bcus of the durability ....
i've seen a lot of problems that ppl have with their gamecube and ps2...

i've know someone that went through 2 ps2s  and both are still not working....they even went to Sony and tried to replace it and Sony told them no.....
Also, my friend's ps2 is not modified and he has to position his ps2 upsided down in order for the games to read...
And well we all know the problem with the laser in the ps2s.....

For the Gamecube...i've been hearing some problems with the laser being bad and not reading some games....

Xbox is the strongest...that's y it so damn BIG!...and also u can modd it and make it look maddd and add hardrives and ting...very coool. 8)

Graphics are a good spec to choose a game from, but what if u don't have the games to show the graphics.

what i'm trying to say is PS2 as more games for the it than the rest and it's backward compatable,

so if u have and old game that u like so much u could play it, let me c de rest to that nah.

i really think PS2 is the best investment.
and if u doh like it sell it,

but what i recommend is buy d PS2, then by the GameCube then buy the Xbox, then u'll be in Heaven.

however....gamecube is still good...but i'll put it under the category for the adventurous third person player with games well aware to us like:
metroid prime
eternal darkness
viewtiful joe
zelda:the windwaker
and (for friends) smash bros melee
on the battlefield, you must learn in the battles that ended in victory or defeat...you must think about if those lives were either spent for a good cause or or wasted

Ps2, then is a toss up between Cube and XBox for me.

There are two ills needed for success, skill and will. Which one do you value more?

Xen that's an impressive list there.  One question though.

What if you HATE playing FPS with all your soul?

If you want to play FPS games like crazy then I'd suggest you buy the PC err I mean the Xbox.

Gamecube has a selection of interesting rpgs but I never gave them any attention so you will have to do your research with that one.

I can say the most about the PS2 though.  I have had mine for about 2 years now modified and I don't see the problem that Arucard's friend has.  Sometimes it may be the equipment not being able to read certain regional codes on discs and what not.  Modding a ps2 removes all that drama.

Anyway, it all depends on how well you take care of what you buy that will very well determine your experience with your console.

Imperial has the right idea.

But i would say get a Fast PC with mucho graphics power. Then u can buy legit games (because GATT does not condone emulation without ownership of an original title) and run it via emulator. I have seen games on the PS2 run as fast as possible with the use of a good emulator.

well this is why why i didnt take a xbox. look at those games you call there, look how much of those already on pc. i rather play a fps game on pc than on some console, i wanna enjoy meh 1280x1024@32bit, max detail, online multiplayer enjoyment. xbox have real fps games, but i aint playing them on that controller nah, that is pressure. even if it have a mouse and keyboard for the console ( i not sure if it have one), i still rather play it on meh pc. project gotham racing 2 is crap, only good game there that is not fps is ninja gaiden oui.
