Okay so I ran across this very cool piece of software yesterday - one that generates photo-realistic terrains. Upon reaching home today, I downloaded it. Gave it a spin. Here's my first rendering:

yeah i heard about this it suppose to be awesome at terrain renders.

Looks good overall but something looks odd right where the water meets the land...dunno what exactly, but it just looks off somehow to me.

You have to set the paramaeters for the water, i didn't do much work there. It's pretty good stuff though. Here's 2 more I did:
