once "the people what are deading" are no longer "deading", I'm in favour.

murder rate was beyond ridiculous. The next 7 kill streak pulled off by a bandit could have included someone you know and love.

If it takes a state of panic and emergency to quell the blood bath, so be it.

ponder on this story a bit;

"ladies and gentlemen of the TT police service, we are going to be doing a full lock down of the country in order to find all dem big gang leaders and drug / gun traffickers. We will be doing this from next month, so allyuh police get ready" :)

-lock down starts-

"buh wait nah... how come we not catchin nobody. Is almost as though they knew about it and went to hide" :S

-Facebook, Ian Alleyne, Carigamers forums etc.-
"oh gosh boi. D gov't so dotish. How yuh go tell the police yuh goin an catch the big criminals. Is the police who wukkin wit dem! Of course the corrupt police an dem went an tell dey padna to get outta d country and to hide everything!
D Gov't so dotish D Gov't so dotish D Gov't so dotish D Gov't so dotish
D Gov't so dotish D Gov't so dotish D Gov't so dotish D Gov't so dotish
D Gov't so dotish D Gov't so dotish D Gov't so dotish D Gov't so dotish
D Gov't so dotish D Gov't so dotish D Gov't so dotish D Gov't so dotish"

On a serious note now. Is about time the people of Trinidad and Tobago (especially us youths) stop blaming the Gov't and start actually putting our efforts forward to quell the issues. Because we've been blaming Gov't for Donkey YEARS!
If it means creating a forum where people can openly discuss issues and actual solutions and implementations... or whatever it is. Rather than we just bashing bashing bashing... and nothing coming out of it.

I usually do not like to take a defeatist attitude towards things, but in this case I may have to make an exception. In this sweet little country of ours, things very rarely get done on time or the way they should be done in any reasonable timeframe. We can't even get the simple things straight, how are the more complex things going to get done?

As many of you may already know, good sense RARELY prevails especially when it comes to processes in the Government Service. Obvious things to the average joe are seemingly greek to those that have studied extensively in the field and are supposed experts.

The only way I see things ever changing is if somehow some honest, straight thinking person were to find themselves in the halls of power, throw out the broken systems and make strides to implement working ones. It wont happen overnight but at least we will be able to see progress and one day, a better T&T.

Unfortunately, there's no sign of anything being done and with the politicians we have had the honour of existing under as of late, things are going to get worse before they get better.

I recommend GATT endorse a new charity program and donate one of these for each member of Parliament.

When I said "good stuff" I i was being sarcastic >_<

My opinion stands with some of you. We can't blame the government for everything tho some of it we can if you look at it from the whole "lead by example" view.

It is "our" fault as well. Many of us do not stand up for what is "right" most of the time. Some of us even harbor criminals or break the law in some way or another, even down to "petty" things in the instances of driving etc. We do not take action when we can mostly out of fear, whether it be ur life may be put in danger or u lose a "friend". The list goes on and on. Of course i use "us" and "we" in a general sense.

Our country is in a far better state than many others around the world. Free education, health care etc. We dont live in a state of war or oppression. Yet people still complain about things being bad here when they cudnt survive a day in Haiti, Zimbabwe, Congo etc. Crime is still rampant. The issue that needs to be address is the moral fiber and ethics of our society. At least thats what i believe is the greatest factor.

Corruption will always be present. Power and greed corrupt. According to John Emerich Edward Dalberg Acton, "Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely".

It boils down to moral in my eyes. How u deal with that issue, i can't give you an answer that would satisfy everyone or anyone.

well the police holding the cocaine. They might want retaliation against the local gang members for losing their product, and taking back the product from the police themselves.

All just speculation of course. Really curious as to how this would be rectified if its found to be true.

Then again not sure I want to know.

Those dudes don't play. There was one occasion in Colombia where they hired some leftist rebels to attack the Supreme Court building, they rolled up in tanks n stuff, destroyed all the evidence and killed over half the Supreme Court justices.

lol! I thought it was already established that they have big operations in this country...

Besides, there were some very unusual things taking place probably a month or two before this alleged bust. It wasn't hard to tell something big was going down. Whether it's related to this or not, i guess we'll never know.
