For starters I'd recommend GamezPlus @ MovieTowne (if you're a town man)

and JK Entertainment @ Montrose (if you're central)

Now why would you want to mod your Xbox 360? Hmm? Not planning to go on to Xbox Live I guess? I believe JK does that sort of thing, but someone else may know the specifics. Good luck with that.

I honestly don't know anything much about xbox and it's capabilities (I got it as a gift), the topic of modds, burnt discs xbox live etc is new and wanted to know what it involves so I get a better overall picture if you get my drift. But I have this great new gaming console and I plan to get the best out of it, so any info would be appreciative, thanks again for your response.

Would not recommend doing any modification to your Xbox 360.

It will compromise your ability to go online and play multiplayer games with your friends using Microsoft's "XBOX Live" gaming service.

Here is the official hype from MS.

Quote
Xbox LIVE brings an unbeatable entertainment experience right to Xbox 360. Connect with friends, download and play games, and access a huge library of games and music in an instant. So what are you waiting for? Jump in!*

Basically, you pay a monthly fee to join their online gaming network and enjoy the benefits listed above.

Microsoft will ban your xbox from the service if it is caught modded.

What games do you have right now?

And what type of games are you into? Racing? Fighters? RPGs? FPS?

To get the best out of your new Xbox 360, keep it a VIRGIN, if you get my drift. Don't Mod, otherwise as Wyatt stated, Xbox Live, which is an amazing service will not be friendly to your Xbox once it is "de-flowered". Its best to BUY games original and sign-up for Xbox Live if you have a high speed internet connection. Now if you don't plan on playing games online, then no need to go with Xbox Live Gold as opposed to Silver which is free. What it boils down to is what you intend to do with your new Xbox 360. Let me break it down a bit for you;

Online Multi-player Gameplay = Xbox Live Gold ($59.99 US per year but worth every penny if you intend on gaming alot online. Includes Voice Chat and Cross Game Chat and Party System)
Single Player Gameplay = Xbox Live Silver (FREE, but no voice chat and no MP online)

You have to be a bit more specific on what you plan to do gaming wise.

P.S. If you don't already know, there are region blocks on some content and you will have to use a VPN service to get around that. There is a post around here somewhere, when I find it I will link it for you to refer to.

If you have any further questions, feel free to ask and we will help you in any way we can.

You can find the VPN guide on the homepage under articles. Its a Netflix guide but works for other region blocked things too.

Thanks guys for all the information, much appreciated, and I'll take your advice and keep the Xbox a 'virgin' for the benefits, as I will be gaming online, especially with my brother who's in Houston (fifa 2011).
I'll be checking those places for the original games etc. I'm sure it's going to be 'fights' for the Xbox's use from my wife and daughter.

Pertaining to changing the VPN, I think I'll do that (not sure how) as I have 1 trial month to Xbox Live, Hulu and Netflix, so I'm going to see how much I can get out of it.

As for games, I'm embarrashed to say 1 (Kinect Adventures) which can with the Xbox, but I'm into football and any sports related games. I also have to get the Kinect games for my daughter and maybe the Biggest Loser game for my wife (errrr....well me too...lol), not much of the first person shooter.

So guys, honestly, thanks for all your info and if you can send me the steps to change my DSN (I have high speed FLOW, with a wireless Router - Asus RT-N56U Wireless-N Router) to enjoy those free trials I'd be thankful, I'm not very IT savvy, and all you have given is GREAT so far, so point me in the right direction and I'll be on my way  :lol:

If you have the Xbox, my gametag is - marquez010, so feel free to add me  :happy0203:

Welcome to GATT.

I recommend, as soon as you can see your way clear financially, invest in a good PC man, leave the wife and daughter with the 360. That is for THEM.

After they settle down to have fun with the dance central or singstar, you then slink away to the pc, steam installed, battlefield loaded and come enjoy a good MANLY sweat with the boys. Bring your own booze and smokes because the game is gonna get ROUGH.

By clear your financial way, Capn means eat bread and drink water for the next few months so you can AFFORD a decent PC to get the 'BEST' experience, minus the exclusives that exist on the various consoles.
And of course the ease of use, no BSOD, no having to hand pick servers, no need for several apps for voice chat, etc, etc. You too can ENJOY LOSING all those on the SUPERIOR (in price as well) Platform that is the PC.

* TriniWyatt shakes head @ w1n & awesome

Just waiting for apprentice or blu_vice to make the Sony PS3 pitch now or Moui to come in with the Nintendo hype. lol

Kinect adventures is a decent game. More of a tech demo really for the Kinect.

I'd recommend Kinect sports and Dance Central next (for the fun factor)

Just got Your Shape and UFC Trainer myself (for the exercise)

Oh Good Lord, why Awesome and W1nTry starting a tug of war on the man thread...The title of this thread is Xbox 360 games...Shame on you both LOL

But yes, for Kinect, Wyatt has some good recommendations, as my wife can attest to the madness that is Dance Central :P

For your Sports games, well there is Fifa 2011 and recently I downloaded PES 2011 from the Xbox on Games on Demand section on Live. I must say PES 2011 (Pro Evolution Soccer 2011) is a very impressive game, with dedicated servers to boot. You can set-up your own room and invite friends to compete.

Also, I'm not sure if you knew this already, but if you have a PayPal account, you can now link it to your Xbox Live Gamertag and be able to purchase stuff on Xbox Live instead of needing a CC.
