So I just got done watching the Nokia N9 hands on video and I must say...I am genuinely impressed. The layout, fluidity, simplicity and most of all usability of it is simply elegant.

Hmmm. Guys, I think Nokia has a winner on its hands. I think they rushed into that Microsoft deal blindly. This damn thing could VERY easily stand on its own and even SURPASS wp7 in market share if it is handled right.

Come on Nokia. Push thissss. This OS has a huggeee potential. Wow. Man, even at this early stage, I say this win harddd over wp7 hands down, much less for if they do it right. Can't believe they been just sitting on this all this time.

Colour me impressed. I...want...one!!!

Its just apps now. They need to do the eco system right or it will all be for naught.

Well, you say hate, I say personal preference. Take it however you will. Just remember there's such a thing as bias too (I make no direct accusations)

I see simplicity, functionality and a well thought out interface, one that gives all the major players a run for their money. Everyone knows i'm and Android fan and while I like the various interfaces, I really like what I see in these early previews.

I can only hope that Nokia does the smart thing and push this os. It has a ton of potential.

Well...it's an evolution of the already solid Maemo 5 OS, so I know
it oozes with awesomeness.

Nokia waited too long with this, hence the jump to WP7 for them to stay relevant.

...but oh MY!!! It sweet.

I *almost* want one....but I'm too sweet on Android.

I say its not too late for them to run with this idea. This has enough potential to make them the independent super power that they once were in both the hardware and software realm.

But alas, I guess its too late. Pen was already put to paper so all bets are off. Damn Elop. I feel he still have strong ties with MS. Nokia might have shot themselves in the foot with his appointment yes.

Wow, what a failure Mr Elop. Even if its WILDLY SUCCESSFUL you're ditching it? Wow. Either you are a complete, utter asshat or you're actually working for Microsoft. Either way, consider my enthusiasm about this very promising platform/interest in Nokia officially shot.

thats because he understands the power of wp7, like many others do...

meego have nothing to offer that other platforms not already offering (and more)... you see a few minutes of video that barely show anything and ur all the rave... as i said before the hardware is awesome.. and if you look @ the sea ray device.. its n9 /w wp7... so even if the n9 is a hit for now, when nokia releases their wp7 device it will instantly surpass it contrary to what your personal preferences regarding UI may be

Pure shortsightedness and bias.

Realise I never once said I hate the OS, my beef is with the interface. The os is clearly missing features and has many shortcomings (in my eyes, of course to you its perfect) but never said I hated the OS. Check my posts again.

And you sir are comprehensively missing all my points...as usual. I started this topic by saying that it has great POTENTIAL. Never said that it WILL surpass wp7. I proceeded to profer MY liking of Meego over wp7 from what i've seen. Why do you all insist on attacking my personal preference?

You seem to think that WP7 is the be all and end all of mobile computing. That is a very shocking stance for an IT person to take. You trying to tell me that you cannot see the potential in ANYTHING that is not WP7? That is fanboyism in the highest degree.

Sorry, as far as anything mobile related, I have no choice but to NOT take you seriously, take that how u will.

neways... please as is common on these forums.. dont say you have your personal opinion and when i voice mine you have a issue... if you say its ur personal opinion cool.. its also mines.. so take it and roll with it :s... if YOU read MY posts.. you will see that no where i said wp7 is the be-all end all etc.. i said each platform has their uses and you cannot dismiss any of them.. but i was refering to wp7, ios and android and as i just stated a couple posts aback.. meego has nothing that one of those 3 cant give you :S... especially with the eco system that each one of those posses...

either way.. the argument is not over your personal opinion.. nobody really cares about that... but its a forum and other people read... so when you say meego COULD surpass WP7, i'm certainly well within my right to say no...

when you say elop is a asshat for refusing to shift from his current strategy... i can certainly disagree and provide views of others that actually make sense...

also as a techy it worries me that you could see a couple minutes of INTERFACE and assume potential greatness
