I wanted to post this earlier but cudnt get the video properly. It has NOTHING to do with MC politics. In fact, if it does, those guilty of the neglect need to be removed immediately. Pure bullshit! Its a shame that this is what the medical field in our country is coming to where people in the field just dont care when their PRIMARY purpose of their occupation is care giving to human beings. Well, I can tell you first hand, that the hospitals in Trinidad is certain death. Two of my relatives died last year when they were admitted to the hospital..One, they failed to properly treat, sent him to Mount Hope for testing, for him to be told he was not supposed to be there because they had nothing there to help, only to be sent back to the hospital where they did not want to re-admit him, by the time they let him come back, it was too late. He died in there...The health system in Trinidad is so ridiculous. An oil rich country with poor health care for its citizens...tell me where priorities are when it comes to basic social services that a Gov't should provide its tax paying citizens. Vision 2020 My A$$!
This is an outrage when people are admitted to the general hospital and never come out alive...Selfishness and Spitefulness doesn't begin to describe this mess...As Saxman said it best, I rather DIE before having to go to a hospital in Trinidad...

The role of doctors are to save lives. I don't know where these incompetent asshats get off passing judgement on her instead of focusing on getting her comfortable and her baby safely delivered. And really? "When you push it out, call me?" What the HELL.

I'm really sorry it had to come to this for awareness to be raised about the clowns we have as doctors in the country.

^^ is not just the doctors to blame hoss! Is the nurses, the administration and whichever government allowing this kind of rubbish to continue.

15 or 50 she should be treated as more than a patient, but as a fellow human. All of them to blame. They too sickening! I hope how d cross eyed lady taking responsibility for everything now she step up and deal with this situation as well.

I remember when a friend of mine was in labour making twins... the nurses verbally abused her.... then they realized she was in her mid 20s as opposed to their assumption she was in her teens based on her appearance they wen silent after...

If this girl is 15, why hasn't anybody been charged with statutory rape?
Once an underage girl comes to the hospital, pregnant, shouldn't that
immediately raise some red flags?

Before we even get to the doctors/nurses, the father of this child should be
making a jail all now.


...and as for Mt Hope, my daughter was born there, so I know firsthand the trials and tribulations of that institution. 

The first problem is the state of the place, and the severe lack of staff, equipment and supplies.
All other issues stem from those two basic problems.  If the government really has the
will to resolve this, it can be done.  Look at Cuba...we can do it.

As an oil-rich country, this situation is truly disappointing.  I can understand why citizens
would want to emigrate and ketch dey ass in another (developed) country.

Not if daddy under 16 as well (or is it 18, I does mix it up sometimes), but I know for sure, if she was 16 daddy could have been 60 for all the law cares.

Last i heard, under the age of 18, its statutory rape. But again, if the baby daddy is also under 18, i'll ask my friend about that.

@Arc - as much as you raise the big question, they see that on a daily basis and ignore it because as far as they're concerned - "oh ho, yuh wanna go play big woman and take man, take dat instead!". They ignore the possible situations this girl cud have been in and judge her off the bat. (15 + pregnant + no visible father = "promiscuous" )

I have a few friends studying med in Mt. "Hell" and they say the maternity ward is one of the worse there. Again goes back to my point of, if your in the health care system and you don't care about the well being of another human being, GTFO!
