Fay-Ann's Tattoo on Express Newspaper Front Page
« on: February 11, 2011, 08:44:04 PM »
What y'all think about this? honestly.....

In my opinion i don't like the fact that something as insignificant as a tattoo on a celebrity made the front page of a NEWSpaper, really dumbing down local news . Was the Express low on worthy stories that day? or was it that the editor felt that it would have been "the real scene" to put something like that on d front page big and bold..

Y'all may have a different opinion, but i want to know what you all think.

Look at that woman gaddamn. That is one sexy black woman. Philo, I hadda ask for your 'man papers' after complaining abt this.

Personally, I dont mind. At worst, its a slow news day and at best they maybe wanted to put something other than the usual 'mother and 3 children hacked to death by deranged, enraged relative' type headlines.

I say nothing wrong with it.

Philo, I had the exact same feelings.  Yes, she's rather fine, but I think
that was just a drama-queen level attention-grab.  Nothing more.

...but hey, we can't tell the editor what to put on his front page eh.

I all for the fine black womenz eh but...what exactly about this fine? and on top of that, to answer the next part of you comment, what about the man who was convicted after killin a bandit that chop up his family? Love to play devil's advocate...Nothing wrong with nice headlines, but I would see them only when bad news is absent, lest we forget the type of world we live in.

1) You dont find she nice, which is fine. A bit concerning but fine lol.

2) I dont think anyone will forget the times we live in if one newspaper for ONE day swaps a gruesome headline for a lighter one.

I can relate to Arc's view that she is a bit of an attention whore but do I think it is wrong? No.

Given the woman's profession...attention whoring is mandatory, lol

Bessness not withstanding, I have to agree with Philo, I really don't see that qualifying as frontpage news.

That could have been frontpage on the express woman subsection where they normally feature a local succesful trini female....but headline news? I think not.
