I think it is a fair bet, based on the past battlefield titles, that the story mode will not be it's strong point. It will serve only as an introduction to the game and a glorified noob tutorial.

So I see where Messiaah is going with his statement.

For battlefield 1942 to have won in 2002 is an amazing feat and speaks volumes on how ground breaking a multiplayer experience that game was back then.

A formula that has been thoroughly duplicated by many a franchise since.

Still...my vote for GOTY 2011 would have been Mass Effect 3. Absolute fan of the series.

Pity it got pushed to 2012. Now its a toss up.

(At least I know for SURE which game gonna win GOTY 2012, ME3! lol)

Well maybe d MP mode was so epic it outweigh d strenghts of d competition. Who knows.

Mario Galaxy 1 got GOTY and it went up against ME1. Maybe d combination of ME1 collective parts wasnt good enough to ofset MG1 Epicness.

But B3 going up against d likes of, Uncharted 3, and Skyrim. B3's Graphics superb, and gameplay superb. But all together i dont think it stand a chance against Uncharted 3 and Skyrim.

Also, d story of B3 obviosuly going to be some crap about some war *yawn*. As all Cod/Battlefield story does be bout.

In any event, going up against Unchrated 3 and Skyrim, B3 not epic in enough areas to beat them games out.

When 2011 wrap up, and B3 loss, you'll see what i mean :)

Edit: Yea wyatt, 2012 GOTY already decided lol.

*throws a bucket of cold water on everyone* :)

After 2 successful open world RPG's that were great but had their fair share of flaws it would be hard to believe that they would let bugs and glitches slip through in that magnitude again.

Also I just stated in my initial post before all of this that Skyrim would def be a contender for GOTY no doubt but I'm not just saying it gonna take win jus so, it will have stiff competition from many other games and will need to put up a good fight which I know it will.  So at the end of it all, just stand by which game you think will win and we'll see at the end of the year

Edit: Yea wyatt, 2012 GOTY already decided lol.
LOL. Most likely.

Still 60 hours is alot for a single player adventure!

But I'm pretty sure each of us will just be running around trying to kill as much dragons as possible! Dynamic ai, seriously, EPIC!

LOL! I could imagine tryin to sneak around and then BAM....DRAGON!!!! Now that will separate the GAMERS from the NOOBs! I cyar remember playing any game where dragons haven't seriously pwned my ass! Dragon Age 2 being most recent. But nothing is more enjoyable than that for me yes.

I can't discredit any other game for GOTY, but my personal preference will always have to go to a game that can balance fun with challenge. DA2 did that for me, but the story was no way as good as the first. I now playing witcher 1 so i could play witcher 2 to see what Rage was goin on about. And nowhere I didn't hear anybody try to stick in Crysis 2 in the mix ??? Did it suck that badly (another game still on my to play list).

Crysis 2 was good. I enjoyed every minute.

Was it a game changer? no.

How you find Witcher 1 going? I struggling to enjoy it but wanna complete it before touching witcher 2.

Glad to hear someone say something good about dragon age 2. Origins was the best RPG I ever  played (before Mass Effect 2 came and stole its thunder)

dragon age 2 was mess compared to the first. had a nice polished look but no substance beneath. like putting glitter on crap. the characters felt forgettable, story didn't grab me or make me feel like anything really epic as going on. and it didn't capitalize on the licence created by the original. perfect example of a sucky sequel.

could understand the issues people had with witcher 1, but it really picks up after the first act, and the story fleshes out, but witcher 2 eclipses it imo. there is no comparison so far. taking my time with this, and really trying to enjoy it fully.
actually want to play it over, Imagine an rpg where little decisions literally change the landscape of how u play so completely. enemies could become friends and vici versa, paths could change, and there is no right and wrong outright, its more your perspective and how you interpret certain events. and the endings ( i heard this has like 16 different endings???) not to mention game looks incredible. easily the best looking rpg (heck or even one of the best looking games out) on pc atm. and yea this game is pretty adult, keep kids FAR from this one!!

hoping Skyrim is even better, which would just give me another AAA  rpg to sink my teeth into (time allowing)
