You sure about that 72% figure Messiaah?

Last I checked it was 70%+ of this years sales...NOT the entire market.

Yeah, that's % of sales for the third quarter only.

Does not reflect the % of total phones in the possession of users.

Still, its a powerful statement on the future. If the market continues at this rate, it won't be long before Android outnumbers Apple in the wild.

D last quater was cutass too, can u find figures for overall? What make u think apple not already outnumbered?

For eg, this is from last year:

http://blog.nielsen.com/nielsenwire/online_mobile/in-u-s-smartphone-market-android-is-top-operating-system-apple-is-top-manufacturer/

Juss licks boy:
http://www.crn.com/news/mobility/240142164/gartner-samsung-keeps-title-of-global-smartphone-share-leader.htm

That incremental update shit apple doing every year catching up to them. Only a matter of time before they end up like MS with they pants down.

Yeah, you won't get numbers for the 2012 until maybe mid 2013

But as you showed in the 2011 numbers.....Samsung was sitting at 8% to Apple's commanding 28%.

At the end of 2012 they would have surely increased that number significantly with the S3 leading the charge.

Given the current trend (70% of Q3 2012 sales) I'd say by the end of 2013, Apple's dominance would be no more.

As you hinted, that may already have been the case from as way back in 2011 because there were more android phones in the wild than IOS devices. Those weren't really true iphone 4 challengers though. A lot of cheap wshb droids just making up numbers.

The S3, Nexus 4, Galaxy Note 2, etc...are real pound for pound competitors to Apple's flagship smartphone. Those are going to be in Santa's sleigh come December 25th.

gg no re!

Agreed.

D Nokia 920 eh holding back any punches either, being sold out on every online retailer and carrier available. I lucky if i get my 2. Nokia and Carriers have seen an overwhelming demand for the 920s, When nokia is able to meet demand we go see what kinda sales numbers coming in for that handset, but thus far it seems to be the Hero device for WP8.

When the smoke clear, we go see what is what. But i can tell u this, i've seen several GS3s in the wild over here, not a single IP5.

VLC for Android has gotten alot better. It is still in beta but they have made some nice improvements so far.....

http://android.appstorm.net/general/app-news/vlc-media-player-comes-to-android/

Just like its desktop counterparts, VLC for Android is an all-in-one media player that supports playback for all the common video and audio formats. One doesn’t need to worry about codecs, compatibility, etc. If it’s on your device, there’s a good chance VLC will play it. You can also launch streaming media directly from URLs that you can either type in or copy and paste from other apps. On compatible devices, the app can also make use of hardware acceleration for media playback, which should improve performance considerably, especially when playing higher resolution videos. This feature is not enabled by default, though. You need to manually check it from the preferences.

Is VLC better than MX player Woody?

I've been using MX from day one when I couldn't find VLC on the google store (much to my surprise)

It hasn't failed me yet.

I wouldn't say better but it is improving with each build. Definitely a nice FREE alternative hehe. Mx Player has a pro version.

I think I may have gotten the pro version in a sale gone by. Would have to check.

But yeah, if VLC ever surpasses it, I'll make the switch.

That's my goto player on the PC (because its opensource and badass) anytime I have to watch media outside of XBMC.

lol, well it is really hard to innovate at this stage. Most of the games I play today are rehashed versions of old ones.

Halo 4, Dota 2, Borderlands 2, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Street Fighter IV, etc....

So I won't fault 'em for that.

Just impressed to see what can be done with a mobile device. Incredible.

It is a bit pricey though @ US$6.00

Will grab when on sale sometime.

I've used Microsoft Money and Quickbooks most of my life.

Used Peachtree as well but it is a bit heavy duty for light accounting.

Seeing that this is in the Android thread, I assume you meant for droid?

If so...this maybe just the thing:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.handynorth.moneywise_free&hl=en

Highly recommended.

I would love an app that would be an extension of Microsoft Money on my phone but since the program is now in "sunset" that's never going to happen.
