Well, whoever thinking about getting an Android phone better grab that before it gone,
because that is a bonafide steal.

Got an extended battery off eBay for about 250 TT (shipped).

This battery is twice the size, physically and electrically than the stock 1500 mAh.
So much bigger in fact, that a bigger back cover was provided along with the battery...

...so yeah, it now looks like a total brick, but it's actually quite nice to hold now,
as it has some substantial heft.  However, I am now getting THIRTY HOURS runtime,
and that's with everything on...including wi-fi, haptic feedback, all sounds and notifications on
max volume, and background syncing on.

Imagine the runtime with all that off.

So now it's the same thickness as the N900.  In my opinion, it's a fair trade-off
for the increased runtime.  So now I longer need to nervously look for a wall outlet
every 10 hours...and I can use my phone the way it was intended.

I know I shouldn't have to resort to this, but the stock battery sucks.  Period.

I feel I'll have to check this out in the flesh.

Really not been sold on a "big" phone. Always found the iphone to be a brick. This seems not far removed in form factor.

Whenever we doing the halo reach transaction, I'll check it out.

How is the battery life? That 4.3 inch screen must be a drainer hehe.

once you dont need to do this to it to get good battery life:

@ woody, that .3 doesnt make THAT much of a difference in battery life... at least from my experience...

but @ arc.. is the 4.3 screen worth it for the decrease in image quality... or is the image quality difference of amoled vs lcd not as drastic as samoled vs lcd
^^ scratch that i forgot the n1 is a 3.7" device... so yea 3.7 to 4.3 def worth it

@ wyatt... if you find iphone with a 3.7" screen was a brick.. then you would hate the 4.3" inch as it looks much more "brickier"

^^ Correct. Night and day difference between 3.7 and 4.3, much more than I expected.

It is huge, but I have absolutely no problem with that. Actually, I love the size.

The colours on the S-LCD are not AS deep and rich as the Amoled, but that difference is negligible.

S-LCD does produce a brighter image and is more sunlight legible though so its basically a tradeoff like everything else.

Well, If I want to use a bigger battery, that's my choice eh.  Samsung needs to make better batteries,
I've already said this, so what's your point really?

Anyway...the Amazon Android Appstore is now live.

Check it out.

Everyone else need not apply.  :)

More choice is always a good thing, yeah?

But I thought the best one was Applan.. hehe :p

As for that 4.3 inch screen, isn't an advantage of the S-LCD over the AMOLED is less power usage on SLCD?

I'm not a huge fan of the mega batteries but at least ya got choice :p
