Ok so will I lose all the sweet customizations I did over the past week? I hope darky has a no wipe gingerbread rom coming out

Oh I noticed a bunch of apps that I close with advanced task killer still running when I check services in settings. Are there any apps that can help me manage background services?

i used to use AVG they had a task killer built into their AV program

that was the only reason i installed it used to kill the programs

that the task killers couldn't

I shall patiently wait on Darky's 'official' Gingerbread treatment.

The current one works really nice.  No complaints so far.

Thanks for the comparison, never user wp7 so don't really have an opinion on it. My only access to the internet has been my captivate over the past week and I really didn't miss my netbook.

Anyone tried setcpu? I wanna see if underclocking improves battery significantly.

If you cared to actually read through the thread instead of just knee-jerk responding,
you'll see where I've mentioned more than once that my brother bought a HTC Trophy
in December, and interacting with that particular phone pretty much sealed the deal
as far as my decision was confirmed.  Oh the OS was real smooth, but the UI and the
layout I absolutely hated.

...and the memory card thing.  Not having it.  I want to be able to remove my card whenever possible,
and not when M$ says.  Simple as that.

IN MY OPINION, the Android experience is much better.  Full stop.

What so hard to understand about that?

Again...this is an Android thread.  Why the constant comparisons and/or bashing from you people?

('you people' = WP7 users)

OK, so you don't like the OS and that's fine, but why the F@#K every time I open this thread I have to
see a post like that long-ass one a few posts back?

If you're already biased in favour of one, then NOTHING will convince you about the merits of the other.

AGAIN...if you have NOTHING worthwhile to contribute, then GET THE F@#K OUT!!!  PLEASE!!!

Hey nothing is wrong with comparing the two, just because I only have access to android devices doesn't mean I don't want to know what else available. What I must say however is that this is an android thread, we are not looking to compare, just for tips and news about android. A comparison is fine however I believe out should be in a separate thread to keep this one clean.

Comparison help to bring out both d strengths and weaknesses in a platform.
Every single Android/WP7 comparison i do, i note, "android have d apps and hardware" right now. It go help men decide, so if dey prefer customization, want apps now, and want d hardware on d market now, den yea. And i post my compare cuase men say dey go like to know. lol wta. And i say about 10 times in this threat, "TO, EACH, HIS, OWN", and i ackknowlage time and tiem again, android have customization, apps, and the better hardware. And i also post alot of useful android articles. Not juss ah hater like some ppl.
Nobody giving no love atal to wp7, is like ah curse around here lolol. and then call me ah fanboy? well yes..

Dont get personal cuase i think wp7 better, i din know my opinion mattered to u so much  :awesome:, . And instead of spending time talking about who post long, and who opinion is what, post about android strengths, and enlighten us about ur droid experiences and what makes it so good to u.

temper temper big boy, carry urself with a lil more decency at least nah
+1

* sigh *

So why don't you people just give all the 'love' you want to WP7 in that  thread?

Whatever...moving on.

Woody...I found a nice little app on that site you mentioned.  Something like the
tinySMB app you introduced me to on the N900.

Wi-fi File Explorer Pro

So now you can manage your phone's internal storage right from any browser.

Really handy if you can't put your hand on that USB cable.

Installed and tested.  Works just like it should.

I've been using Trillian and I must say it works really well. It handles nicely on our poor Edge service and most importantly it can handle simultaneous MSN logins on both PC and phone.

I got a chance to install X-Plane, one of my favorite games on iOS, must say it works very well. It actually has a smoother framerate than on the old ipod touch I tested it on. I assume it is due to the better hardware in my Captivate.
