Siine keyboard looks decent. Will take some getting used to and customizing. When i get time i'll see if it's better than swype.

The only issue is the erasing, it should be more accurate from the off instead of making 4 or 5 loops to erase a sentence.

Honestly it depends on your tech and aesthetic needs. Personally I can't stand my SG1, I really hate the plastic feel and the weight, especially coming from an HTC desire, the phone just feels cheap. The same can be said about the SG2 and mostlikely the SG3. Performance wise the SG has held the first place crown with each generation and this mostlikely will be the same for the SG3. If you can overlooking the phones aesthetics I say go for it, but if you can't like me ill wait for the HTC one X in Q2 of this year.

There's a reason that the Samsung Galaxy series has been best-selling, and it has nothing to do with aesthetics.  The screens, the hardware, and overall performance are a cut above the competition, but don't take my word for it, read and compare all the reviews.

HTC phones do tend to be cheaper though,  but you get what you pay for.  :)

Yeah Arc while that may be true the HTC devices really do have a better build quality. I can see where he coming from especially when paying for something so expensive you would expect it to have a premium feel. I guess in comparison the Galaxy does feel "plasticky". Doesn't really bother me since my Galaxy Note is in a full body case so not really noticeable in my daily use...

So by that logic, we can assume that the Blackberry Bold 9900 is better than HTC dual core devices. The bb has a higher asking price so, you know, it must be better. right?

Only reason Sammy phones sell more is because you can interface them with your twin tub washing machine from Samsung and get alerts when your load is done/machine stick because you overload it.

Comes down to preference really HTC and Samsung have decent phones.

What you think of this? Beginning of the end for Android?

 http://www.forbes.com/sites/greatspeculations/2012/03/14/the-challenges-for-android-the-big-opportunity-for-windows-phone/

The Challenges for Android & the Big Opportunity for Windows Phone

Even though Google’sAndroid currently dominates the global smartphone market withApple‘s iOS coming a distant second and other platforms even further behind, it has been a problem child for device manufacturers with the likes of Apple, Microsoftand Oracle suing manufacturers for patent infringement.

Google acquired Motorola primarily to strengthen its patent portfolio and defend its device partners from Apple and Microsoft, but the acquisition has actually increased its patent woes with Google getting dragged into Motorola’s recent patent battles. The acquisition may also have alienated other Android device manufacturers like Samsung and HTC, pushing them further into the arms of Microsoft, which is desperately trying to woo them to the Windows Phone platform.

Microsoft already extracts a patent licensing of around $10 to $15 from most major Android device manufacturers in the U.S. and is expected to generate billions of dollars from Android in the coming years.Apple, which until recently was demanding injunctions on sales of Android devices by certain manufacturers, seems to have had a change of heart under the leadership of the new CEO, Tim Cook. It now looks to be looking to settle the ongoing patent lawsuits with rivals like Samsung and Motorola in exchange for a licensing fee.

If these deals go through, Apple could also follow Microsoft’s lead and license its patents to Android manufacturers in exchange for a flat licensing fee of $5 to $15 per Android handset. With more than 750k Android devices being activated daily around the globe, this could turn into a lucrative revenue stream for both Microsoft and Apple and make the devices more expensive to the end of buyer.

Haven't updated my note yet. Sounds good though.

http://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s_ii_ics_vs_gingerbread-review-737.php

Samsung Galaxy S II ICS review: Sugar coated

The Samsung Galaxy S II has sold in record numbers worldwide and millions of users must've cheered the news of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update rolling out. The latest OS from Google is a new lease of life for the Galaxy S II - but desserts are served at the end of the meal. It's an opportunity for the S II to finish with a flourish as it makes room for the much-anticipated new flagship.Ice Cream Sandwich, or ICS for short, improves the performance of the phone in some areas and promises better battery life - so, it's kind of like you're getting a free hardware upgrade. There's also a lot of new functionality that garnishes Ice Cream Sandwich, a lot of which is concentrated in the browser, but the general usability of the interface got a boost too with the latest from Google. Here's a summary of what you can expect after updating your Samsung Galaxy S II to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Ice Cream Sandwich update brings:

Improved user interface
Faster web browser with added features
Slightly better graphics performance
Slightly better battery life
Stereo sound in videos
SNS integration into phonebook
Better UI for switching apps and killing them
Face unlock
Built-in data usage monitor

Of course, the Galaxy S II interface is not purely Google-made - the phone runs the latest TouchWiz 4.0, but oftentimes you can't quite tell it's a new version of the software at all. Not that this is necessarily a bad thing.Anyway, we'll test the camera to see if Samsung have made any tweaks to the processing or upped the video bitrate or done anything to improve image quality.Get your taste buds ready and jump over to the next page where we try to find what Ice Cream Sandwich means for the general interface and functionality of the Samsung Galaxy S II.

I  can pretty much put a check mark next to all of those...battery life being the biggest improvement for me.  From 14-17 hrs to 18-22 hrs, with moderate use, is pretty darn sweet.

...and I use more than one battery, so that wall charger only sees me about once every 40 hrs. :happy0203:

As a power user, I can't complain.  ICS is sweet.  (pun intended)
