buh aye aye

How am I wrong on both counts?

The device does not support hardware acceleration nor does it do DD, DTS, etc....

Work is in progress but the fact remains, that TODAY, it cannot do it.

I plan on watching movies on my HTPC setup in the present. lol

Maybe by the next generation they will have all of those kinks worked out and I'd love to acquire a nimble android box then.

Yeah the hardware itself absolutely supports acceleration, so too does it support DTS audio as detailed by the HDMI specification.

In both cases, the software, at this time simply cannot take advantage of the features of this particular SoC (Allwinner A10).

I do realise that I am splitting hairs and the fact remains that regardless of the hardware capabilities of the mk802, it cannot work for the application you want it to work for. Point taken.

But it is important to note that the hardware itself is more than capable and its up to the software to take advantage.

You need this app more than you know...  :laughing7:

MapFactor Navigator

The downloadable maps for T&T are scarily accurate.
Actually used it more than once to navigate from wherever to home...and if you miss a turn it recalculates the route
based on your location.

Might just be the best free GPS street-nav app on Android.

I'll check that app out... anybody here use Waze. It's also a navigation app.
It's been working well so far.

lol @ awesome splitting hairs.

steups

Arc, nice find.

I used the free Nav app on the droid while in the states recently. Worked like a BOSS!

You could replace all those tom tom gps navigational devices with it easily for casual use.

I asked a few taxi drivers and they said the only reason they do not replace them for business use, is the absolute reliability required. Apparently the satellite connection is more solid than data connections to their phones as you drive about the city / state.

Pity that app does not work in Trinidad. Now you have just provided me with an alternative.

+1!

I guess it goes without saying that your HTPC needs to be Windows based?

Can it control XBMC on an Android or Linux-based PC?

think it's network based and connects to the xbmc remote service, which makes more sense to increase platform compatibility.

utorrent for android (free)

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.utorrent.client

How does it compare to Ttorrent

Not sure though it still is in beta, just threw it out there as another torrent option.
