what i know about wimax it's a cdma technology and it used by tstt for person beyond there adsl service. It is also a 3.5G technology so it has some throughtput to be considered broadband.

ok well the thing is i wanna upload a torrent to some site and seems that i can't get to open ports on it... the modem isn't even on portforward database :s so thus i would like to know how if there is any way for me to forward a port with this thing.

is there any webgui present. you can try using the gateway if you are presented with a 192.xxx.xxx.xxx address, if not you will have to call tstt because you may have a direct connection in which the firewall is on there side.

Didn't even know TSTT started providing Wimax to regular customers.

So when we getting it on our PHONES TSTT!!?  EH!!?  WHENNNNN!!? 


On Topic:  What Slaming said.  There has to be a web/browser-based interface
present so that you can configure the thing right?

doubt we getting it on our phones cause wimax is a cdma standard, most likely utms or hsdpa will be implemented or even evolved edge which is sorta dead end standard, even though it has not been released into production anywhere yet but it would be suitable for a quick and cheap upgrade and for such a small subscription base like tstt.

sad that jamaica have 3g service and a more wealthy country like trinidad and tobago can't even get a proper edge service. check for yourself http://www.time4lime.com/3G/

TSTT WiMAX is there last mile solution to get around the copper tie. Basically it is a 3G solution and will come in either fixed or mobile deployment. There should not be any localized interface for the mobile units i.e. it is controlled solely by the WiMAX backend and AAA server. So basically it's what you get and lime with that.
