Sorry for the SUPER late post.
In all honesty it is experience rather than degrees that get you a job. In other words, start making games from now! However a bachelors/masters does help. You should also know the difference in game DESIGN and game DEVELOPMENT...Development is programming, design is scripting/art etc..usually conceptualizing and much more creative oriented.
I did my bachelors in game design at ITT (which doesnt offer it any more) and my Masters in game design (which is essentially game PRODUCTION) at FulL Sail. If you want something involving coding and a bachelors look no further than FUll Sail, hands down this univeristy is the BOMB. Its expensive, but well worth it.
