Ok I must say one thing, after all these years the MK developers still do not know shit about enemy ai. Their enemy AI is one of three levels - cheap, super cheap and OMG F&CK SHIT CHEAP!!!

I have been playing Shao Kahn and not only do they make it his attacks do endless damage, not only do they decrease the attack damage of all your attacks, not only do they give him attacks that you cannot block and will stun you but he also has attacks where he is invulnerable and will not get knocked back or knocked out of his move.

I need a game genie.

I feel your pain bro.

Just spent the last two days catchin' my royal ass to beat Shao Khan.

Had to resort to youtube to find a way yes.

lihixxxxxxxxx immc

Must have fought that bastard 50+ times. Thumbs raw.

Aside from that, this game was / is a masterpiece.

9 Crouching Uppercuts out of 10

Minus 1 for the laggy online multiplayer (but that could just be the opponents/network connection)

They should have some sort of indicator as to your opponent's ping to you.

Maybe I just haven't found it yet.

MK has had multiplayer since MK: Deadly Deception (I can't remember if Deadly Alliance had, and I too lazy to look for my disc). UMK3 on XBLA also has multiplayer.

As for the online for this game, I think it's getting better, I haven't heard people bawling too much about it so far. And remember eh Wyatt we in the Caribbean, P2P pings the lowest we get is probably 120. I can't find a server with under 110 unless I go in CS: Source anyway, so... Yeah. Try bunnin with a fellow Trini to see if it still laggy.

Apparently Kenshi is now out for Mortal Kombat as free DLC

Reviews say he's a boss.

Why yes. How dare they charge money for something they put their time and effort into to increase the longevity of the game. Those bastards. [/sarcasm]

Seriously, guys...as resistant as many gamers are to the idea of paying for DLC, this is what nearly all video game companies are doing now to increase revenue and the longevity of the games. The way I see it, you get complete games more or less when you buy them. These are extras. You can do without them just fine, but you do have a choice. Take it or leave it, it's your decision.

Street Fighter 5

Starting with Ken (alone)

Added feature, you don't have to beat the game with him to unlock other characters.

Instead, they are all available as DLC. $2.00 each for Ryu, Blanka, Dhalsim, Chun Li, etc....

Never plan to play with Balrog? No problem....just don't buy him.

Tired of having your friends come over and whoop your ass with Zangief? No problem......just don't buy him.

Brings whole new meaning to the term "Ken Fighter" lol

You see where I'm going with this?

I do agree with you that more and more publishers will go this route.....but it ISN'T a good thing for gamers.

Not long ago, we would get those as free in the form of patches, mods, hidden unlockables, etc....

Personally, I think *Pay* DLC should be truly extras that don't add to gameplay. Like say costumes in Street Fighter 4 or uniforms in Bad Company 2.

Not entire characters (as is the case here and in LoL)

The good thing about LoL is that you can still earn enough in game credit to unlock the characters. Paying the money just serves as a short cut.

If you could earn the character in MK by some in game means......that would be cool. Kombat Koins may finally have a use.

That's the problem.....for every 80 gamers that say "Awww hell nawww" to the nickel and dime tactics, there are 20 saying...."gimme more lex, gimme more!"

And if you're familiar with the business addage; "20% of your customers provide 80% of your income"

It becomes obvious that the publishers do not have to please everyone to make their millions.

Their return on investment for this strat is guaranteed (and that sucks)

ROFL @ Arcman's Lexington... LOL

But yea, these days DLC is where the money is at. Look at games like COD, 3 map packs out and Activision raking in the doe. On Xbox Live, avatar clothing and add-ons for games are hot ticket items that Devs are cashing in on. Dance Central has DLC too, MORE SONGS to dance to, and women are buying them...We are feeding the hungry monster and it wants MORE. On PSN its the same, there are DLC packs and add-ons. Its BUSINESS!! :P

So Lexington is going to be shooting air eventually, cause this monster not stopping, KY or not...LOL

Triniwyatt, there's one problem with your example. That's not sounding close to being a complete game. It's generally understood that what you receive when you purchase the disc is a complete game. The extras are just that- extra content that won't detract from the overall gameplay or be so much that it outweighs what you purchased with the disc.

Either way, arguing about it is pointless. They're doing it, so there.

Ken Fighter 5 was a silly and extreme example (though there are many players who would be just happy with Ken being the only playable character)

And we are not arguing, we are discussing it.

That is the point. A discussion is an end in and of itself.

What defines a "complete" game is a moving target and very subjective.

I am the first to admit that Capcom nickel and dimed us with Super Street Fighter IV

There are some obvious signs....the "extra content" runs on the same platform / engine.....it is released in short course after the game, it is relatively cheap.

I love Street Fighter, so I'm part of that 20% that capcom can count on to spend blindly behind their titles. For shame.
