After some digging I found out that the guy who did the image of subzero posted it on the zbrush forum around March 2009 and from the comments on the forum up to a few hours ago it seems that he has nothjing to do with the film and his image was apparently stolen by the MK Rebirth Producers for that demo clip.

It isn't even supposed to be a model of Sub Zero!

I'll be eagerly following up this one to see if it turns into a scandal.

hmmm...I wonder wats gonna happen to Liu Kang (provided he'll make an appearance) and I wonder how Goro will be in this film. Obviously this isn't a fantasy film like the preceding MK titles, and a lot of em have mystical based abilities and apparances.
However I guess anything is possible, the story now behind Reptile and Baraka was epic genius.

well I won't dispute that, but for the more mythical main characters...I'm just curious to see how they'll be conceived. I mean the only thing I can think for Goro for example is either a product of some bio experiment or some conjoined twin martial artist...i dunno nah lol

The way these characters are conceived Lui Kang could probably be an arsonist who throws molotov cocktails and Goro could be a failed product of cloning.

Here's an interview with the director. He says there WILL be mysticism and fantasy in the movie, but he wants it to be done in a TASTEFUL way. Not too campy and cheesy. Good read.

Unfortunately its not gonna be a movie.....BUT however the same director is gonna make a 10 part web series. Characters expected to be cast are: Shang Tsung, Liu Kang, Sub Zero, Durak, Kabal, Kitana/Mileena and Scorpion.

The only plot details we could conjure up is that a few Earthlings will fight to save the planet from Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung, two Gods ruling over parallel universes, or something to that effect.

Hardcore fans rest assured this series is taking a more fantasy approach than the short film trailer. As u can see Baraka has been changed significantly to mirror his ingame self.
