sub is gonna be built using a plate amp with custom enclosure..

do not under estimate their power for their size.. i honestly didnt know that 3.5" woofers cud play so deadly....

That Yamaha rx-467 looking like a descent receiver, i doing a lil shopping around meh self for a new receiver to replace my Onkyo TX-NR807, it start giving an annoying problem after a failed firmware upgrade, just so the sound stops out putting to the amp/speakers, and the only way to get sound again, is to attempt the same firmware update which bombs out at 98%, when it bomb out i is plug it off and back on and bam, i get sound again :S

wow that klipsch got a 5/5. Stellar reviews.

I'm satisfied with my z5500's as tempting as these maybe. Mainly because I can't even go past 33% volume without waking the neighbours, lol.

Correct is right!, i been researching a replacement for w while, i think i going to do away with the receiver component in meh setup and go straight independents, i don't got far to go cause i got a 5 channel external amp already powering the fronts, center and left/right surround. the receiver is just power the back surround left/right. so if i go with a straight A/V processor to replace the receiver, i go have to only get ah 2 channel amp, i might shift the current 5 channel to power the center and all surround speakers and get a more powerful 2 channel to drive them Front speakers i got deh. i think i settle on the A/V processor i going with and the 2 channel amp, just doing some final research on them but i basically sold already i think from the forum feedback and reviews they got

Lil update on rig. Decided to test out triple screen setup. still have some adjusting to do, and its not perfect.

2 other games I wanna test properly are bad company 2 and dirt 2

still looking out for another 27-28 inch to finish off this setup.

Small update to my HT system, i decided to ditch the Onkyo TX-NR807 receiver due to that issue with the sound crapping out on occasion due to a bad firmware update. so after doing some research i went with the below.

I decided to go for all independents this rounds, so i ordered the Anthem AVM50v A/V processor/preamp, auditioned it at some AV stores, simply amazing job on any video source and audio source. i love the Audyssey room correction system the Onkyo had but the ARC system in this processor is on another level, cant wait to slap this sucker in when it arrives and start playing!


I used 2 of the internal amps on the TX-NR807 to power my back R/L surrounds, now that its gone i decided to reshuffle my existing 5 channel amp to power the center, R/L surrounds and back R/L surrounds, and went with the Emotiva XPA-2 to power my front speakers, this amp pumps out allot of juice for them thirsty Paradigm Studio 100s, the xpa-2 has the same solid build quality/internals and was half the price of them other HT high end amps! i heard the Anthem P2 Amp and some other brands play on the same studio 100 speakers, no major difference compared to the Emotiva except the drastic price. (Emotiva Fanboy in the making  )


Hopefully this is the last update for a while with my HT setup and i can get back to buying PC parts, this HT buying thing to expensive!

on a side note.. make sure and test ur system with some true  DTS TRUE HD ( mastered ) blu ray movies to see where u went wrong..trust me..they will point out your errors.

Sounding good, this man hand building he system yes, i like that, when i in TT i go have to make ah pass in and check out your setup.

Yup critical part is testing with the correct material after the setup, only blu-ray here i is run, planning on testing it out with Inception and The Pacific, thats what i saw them using in the store to, they got some awesome audio, especially that The Pacific

if yua lookign to buy, why yua don't check out Emotiva? they got some entry level subs 10" and 12" http://emotiva.com/ultra_sub12.shtm, not to sure how good they is and yau might be able to mod them?

if you want to venture into madmannizm, a more serious contender might be ah SVS sub, something like the PB12-Ultra/2, not to sure the modding ability of it but a man like you i am sure can do it.

Or even better, since is Christmas time, how about i give you my Paradigm Studio sub 12, and you get me the Paradigm Signature sub 1?
