yeah i did the research and saw that to, that’s why I thought it was a flop, but i saw the TV in the store side by side and play round with the controls, everything just look richer, but is a preference to if it take yua or not, I happy with it and I don’t feel like i waste any money as i got it for almost the same price as a regular 60" LED

arc... i'm not sure u understand fully how video is captured...

a camera lens is made up of multiple lenses.. the first lens CAN capture images and their FULL color however the color is misaligned and certain other defects the following lenses are just their to re-align the colors so they arent actually RGB lenses etc

movies are recorded using analog cameras which capture the full color spectrum
to transmit they convert values to digital so that each different color would have a different bit value

tv's/monitors etc represent millions of colors, they mix 3 colors to represent these millions
now add a fourth color.. you now have 4 colors you can mix to represent these millions... see the improvement now?

^^ yup all that show up in my research, it have plenty forums (www.avsforum.com pretty good) with all sorts of people reviewing the tech, some call Flop, some call Fair Play. The most important thing is to try it before yau say no ;), that’s what turned me into a believer, seeing the TV in action, with the same source and comparing it to others right there in the store.

As if I needed to be lectured on the finer points of video-capture.  :)

I call shenanigans, because red and green can be combined to produce yellow...

So what's the point of adding a yellow component to the pixel, if only to give images a somewhat 'warmer' tone?  Sharp needs to come clean and admit they 'try a ting'.

I know you kinda feel the need to 'defend' your purchase eh, but I don't see this as revolutionary.

What's the price of this versus a 'regular' LED TV?

Boy, we can read words from now till sunday, i see the TV show, and i believe :) but you can stick with your philocify till you see on in action. Anyways the biggest toshiba LED i coulda find in the store was 55" and was goinh forr arround 2500 (Ent think they got 60" yet), the Samsumg 60" was between 3500 to 4000, the Sharp LC-60LE920UN  i got for 3000 :)

PS; who said anything about revolutionary? I just posted an update to may home equipment, you may have noticed the TV was a small part and not an entire post about the TV. i dont need to defend no post :), Anyways, carry on.

Chris, your setup is very similar to mine.

One big question, I was told by the oracle (aka google search) that using optical out from the TV to the speakers would be a bad idea. In that, the TV can't do 5.1 processing, so you'll only get stereo. That is, from the HDMI sources, like your xbox 360 and PS3 for example.

So Xbox 360 (5.1) -> To TV via HDMI (5.1) - To Logitech 5500 via Optical. (Stereo)

The oracle said you'd need a receiver to maintain the 5.1 from the HDMI to the Optical.

So it would be

Xbox 360 (5.1) -> to receiver via HMDI (5.1) - To Logitech 5500 via optical (5.1) and TV via HDMI (for Video signal)

What has been your experience?

Is it that you've gotten your LG to do 5.1

Right now on my z55 i have PC connected to analog (5.1), PS3 connect via optical (5.1), and the 360 connected via coax (5.1). How i did the 360 was to get a cable which allows you to use HDMI and optical at the same time (You can stop here if you intend on using optical for audio), and then get an optical to coax converter, both of which were relatively cheap.

So I get my 3 systems on 1 sound system :)

I also have PC, PS3, 360 and Wii connected to the same monitor and i switch them by the press of a button, its a pretty convenient setup...
