Keyboard... the other weapon of choice??
« on: March 27, 2010, 04:54:47 PM »
I saw TriniWyatt's topic and I wondered if "Mouse and Pad" were the only swanky items out there or if we have some killer keyboards in the mix as well.

I've been using the Ideazon Gaming Keyboard (now SteelSeries) for a few years now and I've got to say its a real joy to use. Aside from the usual features as programmable macros / keystrokes, there are over 100 preset keyboard layouts for premium game titles.

Here's a link if you're curious: http://www.steelseries.com/us/products/keyboards/zboard/information

I NEARLY buy one of those Christmas time, but I really have my eye set on this...

Logitech G15 rev 2

...which I shall acquire in due time.
Logitech spoil me with the LCD, and back-lighting.

I currently use its older cousin...

Logitech G15

Has performed yeoman service over the years.  Had this baby since 2006, but the LEDs are fading gradually,
so the back-lighting isn't as strong as it once was.  The LCD is a real plus, especially if you need to monitor system parameters
while gaming.  Everest has the ability to interface with the LCD and display any sensor value that you desire.
Sometimes, its the only way to tell if your system is running properly while in game.  Not to mention, it displays stats/info for certain
games as well...including Bad Company 2.  :)

Simply one of the best gaming keyboards ever made.

Logitech Dinovo Edge, SLIM!, laptop-styled keys, fast to type on, responds quickly, quiet, takes up less deskspace than fullsized keyboard, wireless, RECHARGEABLE, (about 1 months use between charges), mouse disc/touch pad, (works wonders when away from d desk watching movies on d pc, touch sensative volume control. Best keyboard i ever use. (dont need all d macros and lighting stuff, will leave dat fuh meh mouse.

Good lord at the price of that keyboard messiaah.

Yeah kgfalby, I was looking at that one myself some moons ago. Never got up the nerve to buy it though but was a very interesting concept.

Arc, how come you ain't eyeing the G15's big brother? The G19.

These keyboards make a statement without saying a word yes.

Most impressive.

Well right now I'm using the Razer Lycosa...

but I'll be buying a G19 whenever I put my hands on some spare cash. $500+ for a keyboard eh easy to put out.

Just too damn expensive.  Multi-colour LEDs and a colour LCD is not worth the extra hundred and something US to me.
I don't need my keyboard to be THAT uber.

If money was no object, then hell yeah.

Currently using same keyboard as arc and Hard Oc.(G15) using it around 5 years now, no complaints.

There are some awesome apps for this keyboard, one of which Minilyrics, allows you to see lyrics to your music scrolling across the screen while u playing music. Very easy and fun to use.
