Nah I doubt he said anything about TDM being campy.
Pretty sure he means that Team Deathmatch is not a tactical gametype. It's just senseless killing of the other team as opposed to domination, sabotage etc.

TDM is a no go cuz its boring thats the main reason
campiest mode yes and yes we know how to deal with them but why bother they just gonna respawn an do it again an we gotta rinse an repeat it again and again

there is no teamwork involved in winning a tdm game
ONE man can go big an backpack his team to a win
i personally find that dull just running around the map mindlessly shooting ppl over and over till the score reaches 7500

i am a teamwork oriented person
so modes like CTF, DOM, DEMO are much more fun as it requires something more than just pressing R1...it actually requires strategy

when i want my rambo mode i play SnD as that gives me the ultimate rambo rush as u know u only have ONE life so u cant afford to mess up

plus obj modes have those moments where u can go clutch and get a big flag return and counter cap or a 1v4 clutch in SnD

the only games where i find tdm to be any sort of fun is games that require a bit more gunskill than cod games. games like halo, kz, socom, uncharted (pre nerf at least) etc
games where u dont die in 3 shots so u actually have gunfights

PS: alot of trinis are not good in obj modes because they spend too much time just rambo-ing in tdm and never took time to actually get strats down for properly playin obj game modes
hence the reason many find obj game modes to be "campy" when in actuality its just them running around mindlessly

Woody, that graphic is awesome. CoD has wtfpwned the industry yes.

Kinda question it having more active users than WoW though.

I'm surprised to see that BlackOps is still the #1 seller on Steam even after all the bad PC reviews and all those epic sales and discounts on other games for the Christmas.

I can see (to a certain extent) what Blu is reffering to, it does take a markedly different game style (i'd wager 50% of the time) to be successful at the objective based games. I have been in enough objective games to know that running around like a headless chicken isn't the best way to go (unless your host in which case all bets are OFF regardless of game mode).
Personally and redlum will verify this, my game style changed radically from MW2 to BOPS. And I blame Halo Reach honestly, cause that was the game of choice between the 2 titles.  I slowed down DRASTICALLY from MW2 to BOPS. That being said, Red does tend to get more kills than I and his KDR most times are decent, however I do pretty damn good on my own and tend not to get a -ve KDR when we end up in a laggy game.
Now that being said I do believe that the objective based games are MORE campy than TDM as most times than not the objective are SET positions on the map and you are FORCED to go towards them if you want to win. This promotes PITCHING tent like you on vacation with Jessica Alba and an inexhaustible supply of Rough Riders.... and as proof of this I have found VERY often MYSELF to be doing exactly that. Capture the flag... once I have a good connection I rack up nice killstreaks just WAITING on the opposing team to make the mistake of grabbing. Claymores ABOUND!
Luckily and purposefully, we don't lose too often, I have a 2+ win-loss and that's no fluke. Most time we lose its because of a CRAP connection rather than actually being bested by an opposing team. On a few occasions it is a team with superior tactics but that's VERY rare. That being said, drawing from my experience, a few times we've lost in tactical games was due to the other team having better connections coupled with NASTY no @$$ gamestyle AKA SPAWN camping, yes I said it SPAWN camping. And tbh that ONLY happens in objective based games.
So whilst Blu may find TDM boring, TDM imho is the LEAST campy of all the game modes.

In this case I tend to agree with w1n (yea I know that rarely happens).

When I want my objective based fix, I look no further than Bad Company 2. FOR ME, cod is nowhere NEAR as satisfying as collaborating with your team to take out mcoms in bc2.

When I want my run and gun, rambo style of playing fix, there's nothing better than COD. Ive seen on many occasions, particularly on XBL, even in tdm where men would literally lie down on the ground with their back to a corner just waiting on men to pass by. The nature of the game just BEGS for this kind of play.

lol its not spawn campin and its not nasty u got put in a spawn trap they are playin the game how it should be played,
competitive players learn spawns and know how spawns work and know where u need to be or how far u can be before u force a spawn. thats not nasty gameplay u need to get good an not get spawn trapped plain an simple

example of a simple spawn trap on demolition on firing range (terrible map btw for demo)
team that spawns in the back at car can get worked easy all the other team needs to do is have 1 guy on the left and right flanks (not inside where car is) and one guy in the middle by wood there by B-Dom and bam all 3 choke points blocked off and in demo u spawn practically same spot all the time so once u have those 3 areas blocked the team caught spawning by car is royally f%#ed and wud have to work hard to get out of it

if u get put in a spawn trap then give props to the other team for pullin it off perfectly cuz its not easy not unless ur team isnt good

also any smart team knows not to play CTF sitting back campin thats mistake #1 w1n, u do that against me and my clan u will lose 100% of the time

any good team knows u need to get map position. u sitting back campin leaves holes on the map that u cud be checking and callin out enemies but instead u inviting them to get close to ur flag.Only a dumbass will rush flag an not check the area 1st so that campin back tactic only works on retards. I much rather try an keep u pushed back that way if i do die i can respawn and get back into position or at least meet back up with u BEFORE u reached my flag cuz the way u doin it is u bankin on the surprise attack that wont work or will not work against good ppl for the entire match and once u die then hard luck u have to wait and that man done gone and would reach back middle map before u respawn


Good teams get map position THEN run flags, that way they are in position to watch cutoffs and keep u BACK at ur spawn while flag runner has a clean pass and when he caps it he switches position with the closet person and players rotate so the next player closest to flag grap an run so u have a constant pulling of flags without givin up map position

now of course this a perfect scenario , it doesnt always play off like this

all this goes back to the point i was stating that trinis dont know how to play obj games properly in games not just cod. Not knowing and also worryin about stats too much. Only stat ppl should worry about is the WIN. Personal stats dont mean squat and kdr doesnt say ur a good player especially if kdr was achieved in TDM primarily.


yall need to play obj games with me and see the vast difference when playin ur style

As I mentioned before, what it comes down to for us, is we play what we have fun playing = tdm, and some domination for good measure.

You may think it's monotonous to have to deal wit campers, but some of us find it to be fun, cuz we'll try to come up with entertaining ways to deal wit them, a la redlum wit d semtex vid. I'll check back through my previous games and see if I can put together some vids, but as an example, a recent camper I dealt wit ended up wit a LAW missile to chest That gave me a real feeling of joy, especially since he helped me with a contract

You better than me Czar, I read the 1st line and disregarded the rest of the post. He seems to have missed the first and more important part of my statement about when we lose. The magical words are:

"WHEN THE OTHER TEAM HAS HOST"

That being said, the example I gave was of a team that had FULL 'host' connectivity 4 bars on XBL and was able to kill us faster than we could kill them, a GREAT example is when I Pull host (a feat which drives redlum nuts) and EVERYONE is slower than me, I can place 1 volley into you and kill you and you can lay 3 volleys and still wonder what happened.

Czar also know SPECIFICALLY the game I made reference to as he was part of that team. And as far a 'spawn trap' that's called IMBA, as in imbalanced, ask the WOW players what happens when a dungeon, class, weapon, etc is IMBA what happens in the next patch... NERF. Unfortunately that's nothing we can expect from Treyarch. Cause the flip side of the coin is, enemies respawning BEHIND you as you pass by, if you're telling me that it takes skill to SPAWN CAMP a team, dread I done.

Also, I don't know if i'm the ONLY one that realizes this, but Blu basically condoned spawn camping... in fact praised it... and he said TDM has campers? that's called a contradic... never mind.

I think czar and awesome said it best.....its plain old fun.

When jones'in for something tactical....Battlefield Bad Company 2 on the PC fits the bill very nicely....and its fun.

When I want to run amok and kill people like whoa.....CoD Black Ops. FFA or TDM. Most importantly....fun.

Again, not saying you're "wrong" blu_vice. Its just that you have a different perspective, a different paradigm.

Your fun is obviously being insanely competitive in these games. You'd do well in the CPL and CAL. (Heard they just relaunched)

It is a little insulting when you suggest teams aren't "good" if they don't meet your criteria for success in CoD.

I'd say the trinis are exceptionally talented....especially on the 360. Very skilled players. Shockingly so. They consistently beat the opposition, many high ranked foreigners and regularly play together.

That's good enough in my book.

U obviously missed the point when i said its not easy to pull off and if a team gets u in one then props to them because either they are that good or ur plain garbage that simple.
campin is different from a spawn trap eh and if u know how its easy to break but of course u need to have teamwork to do so. Campin randomly in one of the 192924785 spots on a map and settin 3 men on a set location, which btw u would know if u knew spawn traps, so u see its easy to stun an nade it an break a spawn trap but then again u need to have stun nades dunno how many of u actually use it

by high rank players u dont mean leaderboards do u?

also not sayin some arent individually skilled BUT thats just it once they get in a team environment they fold up faster than the PNM on elections
and in TDM thats exactly what is required individual skill....everybody take care of themselves and u good to go nothing to worry about besides u stayin alive and killing the enemy so i personally will never say a team is good if tdm is their mode

@czar i use the pistol or ballistic knife.....much more humiliating and they cant use the "oh he's a rocket n00b or a n00b tuber" comeback. Nothing worse than losing a gunfight to a man rockin a pistol and u have an AR or SMG lol

Lastly if TDM is ur cup of tea then by all means have fun in it and kudos to u but dont complain about "campin" in an obj game when its ur lack of knowledge on how to play the game that keeps gettin u killed cuz as i said before there is little incentive for men to move about the map in tdm games and its free reign on where they will camp whereas in an obj game u KNOW where ppl would tend to be IF they do camp and that is why u have stun nades to check for hitmarkers around those spots at the objective

Host makes a HUGE difference, I can confirm this on PSN also. While 4 bars won't guarantee a win shots definitely register faster. Lag clearly does affect gameplay ie. many times you will be shooting someone and he kills you first. When u watch in the Killcam you never even pulled off a shot. That doesn't happen when you host, trust me.
