I'd say that's more a matter of superior ping.

the cod maps are very well designed that camping is difficult, in general. Not to mention you light up like a christmas tree with gunfire/radar/etc...

all pings being equal, a camper will die, with regularity.

That's the beauty of being on a dedicated server, that way their isn't a host with vastly superior ping to everyone else.

Exactly. I'm not raging against "camping". I specified in my post the latency differences. I killed that camper 10 times if we had equal ping.
There are regular campers that I take out easily and regularly when pings are stable. This one stood out for that reason.
4 elements got me to raging here:
1. LAG
2. The guy's attitude post game.
3. Camping an entire game: (worth noting after the guy got killed, he went back in the same spot and got game winning kill cam.)
4. False pride - boasting you are better than everyone and ignorant of WHY you got the kills in the first place. (When I have the off chance of having a better ping than all, I obviously perform better. I am humble about it and don't boast or claim to be superior than the poor folk who had higher latency.)

Sure Wintry and Redlum etc on xbox live as well as people on psn can relate to my experience. P2P is not perfect, you get lag alot but for the most part it is balanced.
It's instances like this, that push people to rage and I don't rage much lol.

@crackerjack, If I was on PC and you were camping, I'll take care of you easily given that ping is stable. You simply can't effectively camp in a CoD game (as Wyatt pointed out) unless you're playing against noobs or have a better ping than everyone else, and last I checked I not noob :).

In hardcore matches...with the right perks...you CAN camp in one spot for an entire match eh.  Just saying.

...and I'll tell you something.  Its this whole killstreak thing that has the COD community
playing like this.  The fact that you're AWARDED more or less for camping and getting
so many kills in a row has led to a sickening majority of players who have decided to do
just that.  Especially noobs.  The run and gun gameplay style (which I happen to prefer)
doesn't really work that well anymore, especially when you have lag.
Whats a guy to do?  We make such a big deal about KDR in these games that we lose sight
of the 'big picture', which is to have fun, so yes men will camp, because its what gives em a higher KDR, which is all that matters...right?  :(

I've become rather jaded over the years with respect to the COD community.  Maybe part
of it is that I can't play as well, or I don't have the time to devote to it, but I honestly
don't miss playing it as much.

Sheeit...them new Bad Company 2 maps couldn't come fast enough nah.

Simple resolution for a camper like that, stay away from his camping spot and leave him there to get 6 kills MAX. If everyone on the team just avoided that spot, then he would have sat there whole game with nobody to kill. Yes its annoying, but at the same time, if people just avoided that camper he would have had to leave that camping spot to get his kills. Or as W1nTry always says, CAMP just as they do and let them taste what they want to dish out....I for one hate campers, but if I get killed twice in the same spot from a camper, I not going back there. Let him salt by himself. Damn n00b.

Was now gonna suggest avoiding the spot lol...well I did somewhere else. Anyway I just adapt to those bitches play style and deal with them. And killing him wasn't a good choice with him being the host and all.

the MOST annoying map to face campers in is freakin Nuketown on Hardcore Dom/TDM! I have NO idea WTF Mezeker lives on that map for! There are 2 or 3 spots on the map that u cud more or less stay for the entire game and as soon as someone ran around the corner or even spawned, insta death. Extremely annoying. And in that map u dont really have a choice not to go back to pass the area as Redlum suggests. Grenades for days too! As Beobear say the other night, "this game have more explosions that transformers 2!" LOL. Oh and with that, freaking Gunship or Chopper gunner comes and u dont even have a chance to blink....

Another thing i despise about the PC COD is the poor keyboard layout. Unless someone can offer me a more comfortable adjustment for Melee, Special grenade and prone in proximity to everything else, i will forever die to mishitting keys, its frustrating. I lose alot of kills missing my knife button and ending up in crouch X_X fml. OH and this "Prone" tactic is highly annoying. Half my experience so far is watchin men bull de ground every and anywhere!

^^ Whats the keyboard layout for Black Ops? Not Q and E to lean, 4-special nades, middle mouse or G - nade, V-melee, Left ctrl- prone? If u ask me that's as close as u can get unless u don't use lean then u could put Special nades to Q and melee to E.

Aye, I should coin that phrase "Bull the ground" as I said it from day one! Damn PC men bull the ground more than on Xbox Live LOL. Dunno what it is, but they like to dive and insta-bull the ground. :P

I agree with archer PC COD contriols are the best
for this one I sacrificed the lean left and lean right keys in favor of special grenade and melee respectively.

As Preston pointed out, it's an obsession to rid of campers. Any fairly good player can take out any camper. The only reason we couldn't take him out was because of the latency advantage. I just love taking out a camper "short of a killstreak".
It is true that if people avoided the camper we'd have less a problem. In this particular case, people were heading towards the camper and getting shot down, it was critical that someone take out this guy and well it just couldn't happen. One of the most infuriating thing's in life - being unable to do something you know you can do, or in other words getting beaten by a noob with an advantage  :shakehead:.

Activision needs to man up and implement Dedicated Servers for every Call of Duty game and gaming platform so that cases like these will be less common. Also people need to humble themselves and stop acting like total a-holes after a game, but I know that's asking too much.

campin difficult in cod?
cod maps encourage campin
mw2 being the campiest of them all
it has something called suppressors to keep u off the radar when u shoot
also u have things like camera spike, motion sensors that promote campin

apprentice as i said to u on fb activision not gonna implement dedicated servers because that cuttin into their money by spendin more
especially when ppl keep gobblin up basically the same game every year why would they improve it when ppl keep buyin?

i can guarantee i wont be buyin cod next year
too many OTHER good shooters coming out

@ arc completely agree. its this kdr focus mentality that have ppl so. ppl so think that a high kdr shows that u are a good player when that isnt necessarily the case. kdr only gives u an idea if the player is good or not only when u play with or against someone and see what they do for the team in order to achieve the win u will know if that person is good but still waiting for the cod community to figure that out

I see this man post a fix for the stuttering. Looked like it worked for a lot of people based on the comments.

Stumbled Upon Studder Fix
I was creating a batch file to load steam in low priority automatically. Turns out when you create this it also makes every game launched through steam in low priority. in other words, run black ops in low priority: THE STUDDERING IS GONE
launch blackops
alt+tab to minimize
open the task manager
right click on black ops process
change priority to low, if untolerable try belownormal

batch file line before anyone asks:
Quote:
cmd /c start /low "runlow" "C:\path\to\Steam.exe"

Full disclosure after the jump:
