Na boy, ill never ever ever give up the pc as a platform. The very most I MAY consider doing is getting an xbox just to see how it is which is very unlikely.

So much games on PC that I cant even play, the ones I have take up all my free time so a couple console exclusives I have no interest in is not gonna do it for me.

I've tried the controller for FPS games and it is absolutely horrid, no one can convince me otherwise which leaves the community on the xbox as the most appealing selling pt for me. On that front, real people on steam have BO and sweat does be always nice, not to mention we have DEDICATED servers.

Pfft xbox? Never.

Yeah I will get one if I can find someone willing to bring it down for me. If I do buy another 360 it will be the Kinect Bundle.

Awesome boy, I am with you 100%. PC > Console for FPS forever.

I'll only play a FPS on a console when there is no PC version available (Halo 3, ODST and Reach for example)

Even then, I play it with a keyboard and mouse adapter, so I'm still not subject to that console controller nonsense. lol

Czar made the penultimate point about why some gamers make the shift from PC to 360 for their multiplayer needs and it has to do with spending money for the xbox live service.

If you pay for something, the average sensible person will want to extract as much value out of it as possible.

No sense paying for xbox live and not using it right? So whereas PC gaming is free, you'll rather pump all your multiplayer titles through that live service. Peer pressure soon sets in as you become a part of that community and boom....PC lost another soldier.

Its a pretty effective strat.

Many of us will fall prey to it as the years go by. Watch and see.

Like you, I'm going to stick to my "free" PC multiplayer guns as long as possible though.

suhuweat!!!!

Black Ops single player is the coolest thing since Grainz chips...even though I will state that the number of bugs aka "floating apples" were rediculous...eg i saw helicopter phase through the ground in one of the stages and I was like wtf...and it phased back out and continued flight.

I love multiplayer so far, it's cool....but to be honest...and i never thought in a million years I'd say this....

just four simple words
Battlefield Bad Company 2

By Wyatt PC gaming isn't 'free' you are neglecting the cost of everything else associated with the PC. The OS, peripherals, constant upgrades. I say this because on a console it's a consistent experience, you put the disc in and that's it, no upgrading drivers, no upgrading parts, no driver bugs, etc. AND the bugs are usually fixed FOR you not BY you (meaning installing new drivers, hotfixes, etc).
Sure you sacrifice the eye candy, but does that really reduce the experience consider the consoles do look pretty good? Just a thought.

Agreed on all counts

However imo, once one gets past any issues getting in the way of playing any particular game one chooses to play on the pc, I argue that the experience is almost always a more rewarding one.

w1ntry, I'm happy for you with your console and all, and I'mma let you finish...but PC gaming is the greatest gaming of all time....of all time.

I haven't patched a game myself in years. It's done automagically through steam.

I haven't patched my OS in years, its done automagically through windows update

I haven't put a disc in my computer for a game in years, its installed automagically from steam

I haven't upgraded my computer in years and it still plays every game out there.

Haven't changed peripherals either, still using the same old logitech deluxe keyboard and mx500 mouse for years.

(In fact, the only reason I'll upgrade is to give awesome and arc a run for their money in the benchmark thread, lol.)

Steam even updates your vid card drivers now as well as directx. Less time messing around with shit and more time to play. In this hectic world with little time, its damn well appreciated. We're being spoon fed and I love it. Next stop, matrix tubes with steam on tap.

Now don't get me wrong, I currently own and have owned pretty much every major console but PC gaming trumps them all (imo of course)

Equal opportunity gamer here but my love for the PC will never die. NEVER!! lol

More importantly, BlackOps download complete from steam as of this morning.

Lock and Load mofos.

Cant wait to run alongside yuh wyatt. Wish men like Not Nice and War could get it as well to round up what will be a dream team of FPS veterans. Reaper taking reallll long to get his too.

Wyatt lay down the cowbell nicely there too. Steam is like XBL for the PC, AND it free oui lol.

Still, even with the driver update functionality built in, I still like to get my hands dirty removing, cleaning remnants and installing new drivers. It just feels better.

And its true what you said too, one doesnt have to upgrade their pc regularly to play the latest games. One solid upgrade can last many years. Totally agree.

I upgrade often because I love the smell of new hardware. Seriously. I think they put a chemical in the packaging that keeps you wanting more or something.

lol @ lay down the cowbell.

ent @ awesome/red.

Good to see not everyone's been tainted

And as awesome said, you can upgrade your PC every 2 seconds if you wish but that's optional. You really don't have to anymore to get a good gaming fix.

With the consoles, no such luck. You're stuck with the horsepower of the given model till the next gen.

Fact of life. Halo Reach's graphics on my 52" LCD fails compared to games running at 1920x1200 on my PC's 24" LCD

Also, to put some fuel in the fire, I'll wager for TT$3500.00 you can get a pretty powerful gaming PC nowadays to make an xbox and ps3 blush. (screen excluded)
