http://www.amazon.com/Republic-Gamers-G51JX-A1-15-6-Inch-Gaming/dp/B0034NGZWM

ive been hunting  for a laptop nonstop since november
had a lenovo i had settle on but they dont take trini ccs and it was a weekend deal so missed out

found a great refurb asus ... which sold out right infront my face
then i came across this bad boy

a couple hundred over what i would normally consider paying for a lappy
but... laptop prices have actually gone up instead of coming down with the new parts on the market..

so right now iam in love and wanna order soooo badly.

@ a grand for them specs, pfft @ warranty
the screen alone absolutely win
buh combine with the card and i5 and everything else.. plus asus reliability

i wondering if they realise they sellin it at this price
cause i spent the last few months looking for something as good as this and never came close.
infact the only thing close is the old republic of gamers laptop from august 2009 that had a 1440 screen instead of full 1080p that also selling on amazon refurb for like 772 or so, i was lookin at that and thought, lemme check if it have ah new one?
boom this thing descends from heaven.

The closest machines to this all have 1366 screens and dont have 7200 rpm drives
mustt buyyy

:( but getting a lappy at this price means no 28' hanns g screen till later this year *le sad*

i'd recommend Asus , i got the cheapest asus model with discrete graphics last year may , F50-SV  , and its holding up pretty good , survived a 2 foot fall off my bed once .

Mine being the cheap model has design flaw with the LCD cable , i need to send it get replaced after this semester, but i'v never had any serious problems with it , never overheated despite a good bit of video card overclocking and barbados's heat, no serious hardware problems to speak of

No local warranty does hurt but you just have to pay 400-500tt to ship it to a service center in the states via fedex , and they'r supposed to ship it back free.  The latest models i think have 2 way paid shipping.

The machine you linked is an i7, 6gb ddr3 and a Nvidia gts 360, topped off with a 108-p resolution. For $1400 its certainly not bad.

I see u mentioned i5 so I take it you bought a lesser specced mahine? If so, what are the exact specs and price paid.

This is the direct link to the one i was talking about for 1k
http://www.amazon.com/Republic-Gamers-G51JX-X3-15-6-Inch-Gaming/dp/B00361G0ZO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=pc&qid=1270132243&sr=1-1

The main difference in the two is the processor,
Intel Core i5-430M Processor 2.26 GHz with Turbo Boost Technology up to 2.53 GHz
4GB DDR3 1066MHz RAM, 2 SODIMM Slots; 8GB Max
500GB Hard Drive (7200 RPM); Super Multi Optical Disk Drive; Wi-Fi 802.11 bgn
15.6" Full HD 1920x1080 LED LCD Display; NVidia GTS 360M Graphics Engine with 1GB DDR5 dedicated VRAM
Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) Operating System; Bluetooth; 2.0MP Webcam; Backlit Chiclet Keyboard

and i believe the more expensive one gets a backpack as well

Wow...I am liking that mouse very much.  I have fallen in love now with Microsoft's mice since they
introduced the 'bluetrack' tech in the Sidewinder X8.  This one however, is more like the Logitech VX Nano.

Wow at that price. When I saw the specs I was sure it was around 2000.00 US. This price certainly has me tempted.

Can't go wrong, I am certainly happy with my purchase of the i7 720QM model with the 6 GB of RAM, laptop runs REAL nice...only gripe I have is battery life, it drains fast, especially on High Performance settings...if you intend on gaming, find a power outlet before you do...but this lappy is a beast for a nice price!
