Newegg sells fake Intel Core i7's

Like most geeks that build their own computers, I have spent tons of money at New Egg over the years buying hardware and various other gear. Most shoppers of New Egg know the company to be reputable and to have great service. New Egg is in the middle of a controversy right now over allegedly fake Intel Core i7-920 processors that were shipped to customers.

I would have been pretty pissed if I was waiting for my i7 eagerly only to find this.

well just like the original article
the title is misleading, its not that new egg is responsible for the fake processors, its their supplier D&H that sold them some fake ones in quite a large batch of real ones.

New egg is still great.

The ppl who sell New Egg the fake CPUs went on an agressive lawyer spree threatening legal ation for publishing the articles.

Is a good thing Amazon does ship ting so fast. I was sending it back brisk brisk.
The only sad thing is, I woulda have to spend a significant amount of money to do the sending back.

That is real D&H fail in truth.

Apparently, it was another supplier.

So it seems that D&H was very right in the immediate stance they took.

Kudos to Newegg for acting fast on that.
