the original was a legend. snowblind wasn't bad.....but didn't live up....hopefully this is more deserving of the legacy.

I tried this ONCE.... after all the hype over the original I thought aight i'll give it a go... then I realized how many choices and chat options there were... that coupled with an easy death... I shyed away.,.

Well when the first came out i was back in Form 1 now making my way towards the gamer i am now, saw the praise it got from various reviews shows such as X-play and articles online. Never really played it tho, played the second one but i also read how it didn't live up the first game. Just for the sake of the story i will check out both games to bring me up to speed. Also that trailer was awesome.

I never played the first game....but I'm getting a Half Life 1, Fallout 1 vibes from it....and that IS a GOOD thing. Was it THAT good, should I pick up the old game before I gear up for the new one???
Alot of you guys seem to be giving it good disposition...lol this is the first time I'm hearing of this game...sad huh?

visuals will be dated now but you get a lot of freedom in the game that actually keeps visuals in the back seat
nah that's cool
when I play video games I use a sorta, game discipline... so I won't be harsh on the visuals.
It's like if I'm playing Metal Gear Solid my mind set would go back to 1998 or if I'm playing Final Fantasy VII my mind set would go back to 1997. I won't judge the graphics. I'm all for story and gameplay

My problem with Square-Enix games (or Squaresoft of old) is that the gameplay is NEVER as cool as the cutscenes in their games.

Well in this case Square is handling the cgi cutscenes and Eidos working on the gameplay. So we definitely hada wait for E3 to see.

Larutus and Archer I must agree hands down that the original Dues Ex is really cool.
I'm taking your advice to play this before the new one comes out but I'm actually impressed with it thus far.
It reminds me of Half Life with a dash of Metal Gear Solid (stealth and cinematic elements) and Fallout (RPG elements) but I can't go to far to judge the story because I only played it for 7 minutes...but so far I'm really stoked and I hope i beat it before the new installment comes out
