Blink DSL Modem + Nexxt Solutions Router problem

Hey, having a problem connecting my BLINK DSL modem to my Nexxt Solutions Wireless Router. I know it should be as simple as plugging everything in correctly, but for some reason I can't seem to get the set up to work. I was wondering if anyone had similar problems with their Blink modem and knew of a way to fix it

Hey man, first off in order for peeps to help you, there must be something to work with i.e. is there an error message? are all the lights that supposed to come on are in fact on when plugging everything in? etc.

I haven't heard good news about Nexxt routers froms persons I know selling them and the reviews about that brand online isn't stellar either.

My suggestion would be to try borrow a different wireless router from a friend and see if the problem really is the BLINK modem or the Nexxt Router....just a suggestion.

as well as your network set up, i.e. how many pcs you trying to connect, wired/wireless etc, as much detail as you can provide will help us help you

I assume the Blink connection is working when you have the PC plugged in directly.

Not too sure but could it be that your MAC address from your pc has been identified and stored in your Blink modem?

If you already tried rebooting both, try going into your Nexxt Router's firmware and look for MAC address clone option, then choose the clone this PC MAC address. Also you can do a release/renew ip address in your router firmware as well. These two things help me from time to time when I change routers. Perhaps others can chime in.

Possibly an ip conflict? I have never used his brand of router so i'm unsure the default ip range. Seriously you need to provide some more info for us to help you.

may need to turn off dhcp on either the router or the modem
i usually turn off dhcp on the modem

if i get what his set up is, im thinking it's sum like the switch have a dedicated wan link, like the linksys wrts

in which case he may just be having problems setting up the switch software to pass request to the modem (i believe more than likely this is it), but without the version of the switch we can't really start anything, everything is assumption.

It maybe conflicting IP addresses make sure the IP on the nexxt router isn't the same as the Blink router........ that should fix it

conflicting I.Ps because DHCP is on  on both router and modem, in which case he should turn off dhcp on the modem and give the router a static ip internally from the modem's ip range and leave dhcp on on the router.

don't really have to disable dhcp, just have to change the 3rd octet of the ip address from that of any conflicting device.
