yeah, those specs more than good man.

@ Virtue, I already told you the game ran flawlessly on every battlefield 3 server outside of GATT

So my specs can handle it just fine. His will do even better.

Also, I load before most people since my machine has an SSD. Those solid state drives are the king of fast loading.

that said, I do agree that the game is deserving of a beastly machine so you can turn on all the eye candy. It is gorgeous.

but just trying to prevent sending the message to all gamers that you MUST buy a ridiculously high spec machine to enjoy the game. That is not the case.

My relatively low end rig is running it just fine and enjoying every minute (and that's at 1920x1200 res, which is higher than 1080P)

na man.. my old system was like his specs, he is right, a bottleneck on will occur on the GPU because of his CPU, dude get a cheap AM3+ MB like a stable MSI and an AMD 965 x4 and above and one 560Ti ... u good to go, and later on add in another 560ti and u good for about 3yrs, trust me

Wow, a lot of AMD blasphemy going on in here.

And what's this talk about no need for beastly machines?

Balls. Notice is only the men with AMD and dual cores saying that LMAO.

I believe Wyatt has a flawed look at what the word flawless means.

Quote
Flawless
Negative suffix "Less" infers opposite definition to the word "Flaw"
1. to be without fault
2. Perfect
3. lacking defects

Taken from UrbanDictionary.com  :sassy:

I tested BF3 on an old system before i upgraded it for a friend - dual core (2.3 ghz), 4 gigs ram and a GTX 560 ti (only thing good about the rig) - It BURNED my eyes and heart to see it. If low FPS, epic framing and constant crashing due to GPU under-utilization was intended for the game then yes, it ran flawlessly, but that is not the case.

I'm really not convinced it was the server since again, you were the ONLY one who was getting trouble. And we all experience random crashes in game, but thats just the game, most of which has been fixed already.

We are not by any means sending a message that you need a ridiculously high end machine to run the game. But to run it PROPERLY and HOW IT SHOULD BE RUN, yes. The components proposed by TnT Ghost, which have been supported by NotNice, Emperor and myself, is a mid range system. Nothing over the top. For the sake of allowing someone to experience the game to the best they can, within a reasonable budget, that is what we've been saying all along.

well to be honest i ran the beta on this current pc wit my 9600gt and it didnt perform that badly i mean apart from some stuttering here and there, a few frozen frames, one or two hics anyway. I wasnt planning to go for a super rig like d ones i see some men here sporting, but if im upgrading im going bold one time

currently on my hitlist
phenom II X6
as recommended a gtx 560ti
between 8-12gb ram
and some fancy ass motherboard

For about 3000 - 3300 TT (including all shipping/fees) you can go with these much more potent parts:

Asus Z68
Intel Core i5 - 2400  (yes, it's a quad-core)
Corsair Vengeance - 8GB

...and well, the cheapest GTX 560 Ti you can get your hands on.

That's a pretty solid upgrade there that won't break the bank (too much).

Yep great advice here that 2400 is basically a locked 2500K so once you don't want to OC you should be sitting pretty for a while

that's a lot of gaming bang for your buck right there (re: arc's advice)

@ awesome...the universal response shall suffice: HYMC

@ virtue. I've run the game flawlessly (as defined) outside of the server since @ 1920x1200 res (which is the max my monitor can handle). Not getting the poor performance you described. Maybe my Dual Core 3ghz is a beast? dunno.

I still think the issue is related to the server as it has not happened any where else. Other people were getting the crash out that night also, so it wasn't isolated to my machine alone. It maybe related to when the server is at max capacity in combination with remote tools connected to it.

Just a theory though. We will see what happens at the sweat this weekend.

Someday, we will see the trini flag on this server list below
