More info about the frostbite 2 Engine

The next generation of the Frostbite Engine will make its debut with Battlefield 3. It has become known that the engine is being designed to take full advantage of the DirectX 11 API. DirectX 10 support will also be included, albeit with some of the engine features disabled, while support for DirectX 9 and Windows XP will be dropped.

i think the best thing to do that would make bf3 a perfect success is make it for the pc exclusive.

I'm inclined to agree...but that console (cash) cow is to fat to ignore...and then all the console
weenies will be like 'oh noes...we hatez EA/DICE'.  The Bad Company series should continue on
consoles, and the core Battlefield franchise on PC, but who am I kidding? :laughing7:

Yay @ Frostbite 2.0.  It was pretty robust, even in the 2142 days.  It aint broke, so good job there.

looks like the sales numbers for Bad Company 2 earned us a little reprieve when it comes to Battlefield 3 not being dumb downed as a console port.

One can only hope.

Maybe it's not too late for our platform after all.
