Already "got" my copy of Fallout New Vegas, eagerly awaiting 12:00am to play it.  Will give my impression on the game after a couple of hours with this title.  I played the 3rd iteration and thoroughly enjoyed it, cant wait!!!

Well I am liking the New Vegas experience but was honestly disappointed with the lack of graphic improvement from Fallout 3.  I know the graphics are limited by the massive amount of content this game provides so I wont deduct any points on that front.

One good thing I recognized is that they partially closed off the sand box, what I mean is that they aren't allowing people beyond a certain point until they fulfill an objective or most of the objectives in that area, normally this would be a bad thing but for Fallout this is good.  I say this because a friend of mine finished Fallout 3 by just going straight to the end quests without really experiencing the game.

Another thing is that most skill books now last for a duration rather than stay throughout the whole game so they act like a kinda buff when you need those extra skill points to do some activity.

They have also added iron sights to the game which felt weird at first but after a few-lot of kills you can pick off stuff from distances pretty well.

Lastly I will comment on that new addition which is Hardcore mode, I instantly enabled it since I like the hardest challenge when playing a single player games so this was good for me.  What it does is force you to have to micro manage your avatar, in this mode you get hungry, thirsty and even suffer from sleep deprivation also healing aids don't immediately give results and instead work over a duration of time so if you are currently getting shot at and don't have the cover necessary to give your life time to build up you will mostly likely die.

With the game on insanity and hardcore I am having a tough time as expected but still having fun nonetheless find myself doing less fighting and more sneaking and running away from enemies tho.

Always wanted to play Fallout 3 but last time I tried it maybe 9 months or more ago, it kept crashing all the time in the training stage.

Is Vegas something you can pick up and play and enjoy without playing any others before it? Kinna interested in seeing what this game is like.

They say New Vegas is like a huge expansion to Fallout 3 and its a totally diff story. So I guess it would be ok to pick up and play on the fly.

Yeah, what he said.  It is a whole new story so it can be viewed as a standalone title.

Definitely, the story is setup so you don't have to play the previous game to enjoy it. Not a direct sequel.

If you were playing it on the computer I know the problem you were having as I had it too.  The game does not support more than 2 cores so with my triple core I got a lot of crashes and freezes, by forcing the game to run on 2 cores I got rid of that problem.

Yeah, computer. Well that is a pretty dumb flaw to have in a game in 2010. I am confident that it no longer exists.

Shouldn't they have made a mod for improving character models first?
You have part of my attention - you have the minimum amount.
