So folks! I've decided to start a thread with ideas for games you may have. I KNOW some of you guys have concept designs in your head, or some storyboard or something. Post them here! if you need some help with fleshing it out ill be more than happy to help. Ill be posting up a full game document template for you to look at and examine with your game idea as well.

Wanna make a document guys? This is the FIRST thing you need to do. Not a story, not a guy, not "that would be cool" a full on document. Something someone can read and understand and make a concept out of it. THis is the first step..here are some guidelines

Another vid here on female avatars/females in video games. I think this is definitely something the industry should start looking into. Did a presentation on the female avatar and how female designers are necessary for the industry now. Stagnation of games is because its male dominated.

Hello, here's the crazy idea: my brother had me exposed to so many of his heavy metal bands, songs and albums for as long as I can remember. After all that listening and exposure, a crazy idea of making a video game series out of heavy metal coming smoking mistily in the dark reaches of my mind. I'm thinking about making every game in the series based on a separate metal band. I know that I should do more research on this music gerne and that I would tailor each game specifically to the band I choose, but is there anything else that I should put to mind in maikng this game fun to play and spook them out at the same time? How difficult should I make it, or should I put in an adjustible difficulty dial in it to suit different skill levels? It's not just the next survival horror game, it's a masterpiece all its' own. The first thing you should look at is writing all this stuff down in as much detail as possible....like super detail! try to find concept images from google to show what you are talking about, its fine if its ideas from other games, its a concept! Come up with some HUD designs, screen designs and some levels with walkthroughs with enemies. Making a unique game is very hard, and it is always mostly drawn from an already crystallized idea. Work with games that fall into your idea and branch from there.

You then need to think of is what they call a "pillar" for your game. In 5-6 words max tell me what this game is about. For example checkout something like Silent Hill. Six words for it can be "3rd person melee combat survival horror". Thats the game! its got all the main character, the town, the fog, the story even...but thats not the core gameplay.

You need to find that core aspect of your game and build around it. From what you wrote I cant say if you should have a difficulty setting yet, or skill levels. I need alot more info

bringing the challenge and rewarding aspects of gaming to the real world, it would make more ppl WANT to tackle problems versus the mind set of 'I HAVE to do this'

Hi guys, I wanted some advice rather than giving an idea. I would like to open a shop for online gaming where groups can book the room (one for now) to have a multiplayer environment , whether it be for online gaming or Lan gaming. There can also be individual gamers and 2ventually I'll introduce monthly tournaments. Just for the record, the systems used for hosting the gamers lounge will be decent enough with either i5 or i7 processors an mimimum 4gb RAM an 512 graphics cards. My question is: would this shop make sense or will if crash an burn. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
