Share internet Using a switch and no router

every thing i read says this is not possible unless some main pc is on with Internet Sharing or something like that or You have multiple IP's from your ISP.... any IT person shed some light on this.. i ahve a 8 port switch from d0link and 5 wired pc's and no good router can i share internet with out some main pc being on?i have Blink

just tie all the PCs together with the blink modem.

the blink modem will take over addressing IPs and working out the rest.

IP has to be set to auto

if you want to share files between them just run they network setup and enable file sharing and leave the rest on default

do note that bandwidth will be shared and multiple browsers will notice a slower experience

one last thing the modem has to be using the enthernet, why ppl use the usb with a network card avaliable is beyond me
