actually xavier does have some good points... its cool to have these different categories... we just need to discussed how winners are assessed... i guess fan voting?

i 2 spend some time doing cable mgmt...

This is for scores and an http link to the result. Updates on placement changes in the leaderboard are fine too.

This set of category/segment development talk is for the 3dmark 2011 thread.

That one is designed to be more robust and full featured. Pics of rigs, screen shots, stability tests, etc....

The vantage thread is simple by design.

u have high hopes but some other ppl will be fighting for tthat same spot.. note everyone here is upgrading for BF3, what makes u soo special? i say in addition we have some other competitions like a rig for neatness or originality or best cable management or best mod on rig..etc its clear that only benchmarks are made for the rich and famous.. let's even the playing field a bit.... and out of the rigs posted we can have the "best worst rig"

Was expecting a little more out of that 6950 (which is on the short list for my upgrade for BF3)

Maybe it will push more pixels when paired with an I5 2500K

Oh it will. Trust me...but fraidy-cat there wouldn't take my advice and do a proper unlock of the card to 6970 speeds...and it so easy eh, is a shame. AMD actually included a backup bios on the card which you can access via a switch, which is there in case of a bad flash...so its like they actually begging you to unlock it.

Careful with the unlock berzerk when I was doing my research for these cards (yes I was/am eye-balling) the major point to note is that the RAM on teh 6950 can't run as high as the 6970. Thus unlocking the extra hardware but running RAM particularly at 6950 speeds will keep you card from becoming a steaming hot pile. Just a heads up. Also you might wanna keep the core speeds down when not benching same reason as ram.

thanx for the update. Keeping the Shaders unlocked, but will keep rest of settings on normal. unless im running something that requires the extra juice.
According to performance in BF3 would decide whether to go crossfire or not later on.

How come in ur specs u say '2 x AMD HD 6990M' but in the Vantage link it says 'Radeon HD 6970M'?

I was puzzled too. I think 3D Mark can't identify that GPU yet or something.
