Actually I have to find a report I found on the cia fact book, where Trinidad is now listed as soon to be "developed" ( but not 1st world ) and of the 66 developed countries polled, we had the lowest accidental death rate ( work place, car crash deaths etc )  per ca pita but the highest non accidental ( non medical ) death rate. Great we're Number #1 for something :-(

Its news because our country is again being painted in a negative light for all the world to see.

My main concern is if crime doesn't go down or at least NOT continue to worsen, we will need a damn VISA to go to england and as a consequence the other European countries. As it stands we enjoy none of that being a commonwealth member.... you need a shengan but no visa. And can you IMAGINE how hard it will become to get a VISA (should it come to that) and the COST? conversion STIHINK when yuh going from tt to pounds sterling yuh know.

Well the reason I said why is this news is that I always knew the international community watched us very closely, I met agents from the US home land Security agency, Scotland Yard, Rcmp, what ever the German guys police agency is called etc, I knew a report like this was coming.

This Swiss report is actually mild compared to what some of the others may have to say, so be prepared for more :-(

Also paint Trinidad in a bad light? trust me we now have a reputation worse than Jamaicans for crime and we did it to ourselves to.

I don't see how that's possible (being worse than Jamaicans) cause they have more murders and violent crimes than we do, yuh doh go liming round their capital! that says alot, at least tourists can peruse many parts of downtown POS. I know more than 1 Trini living in JA and they say it's pretty bad.

I won't go as far as to say 'we' did it to ourselves cause quite frankly I myself and most ppl I know or lime with have NO part in crime in any form or fashion, nor do I use unnecessary profanity, or litter, drugs, etc. So to say that 'we' do this to ourselves, i'd rather say that the LESSER elements of T&T did it to us all and our heads of state are too busy selling the soul of T&T out for their own gains to give a damn.
