Looks like Ben Affleck. getting on bad at the director's chair. To me this looks like a mixture of Heat and The Departed. Now this I wanna see over Resident Evil....and 94% on Rotten Tomatoes makes me more confident that this is the shiznit!

Well that ain't gonna happen anytime soon. Most videogame movies are the not the kind to be taken seriously besides it's not like the stories in the games were oscar worthy or anything. But RE:Afterlife still took a lot from RE5 so it wasn't that bad not great but not bad.

Nah jed I beg ta differ.
If they had a category in the academy awards for best written "screenplay" for video games", The Metal Gear Series, F.E.A.R series, Farenheit or even the Final Fantasy series would nail those categories...those stories are quite engrossing
that's just my opinion

Was actually referring to the stories in the RE games plus i said "most" videogame adaptations. The one's that actually have a story worth following  aren't gonna be turned into feature films anyway.

Yea those are just fine as games a movie could def ruin it.

But anyway back on topic :) another review for The Town

http://screenrant.com/the-town-reviews-kofi-78617/ <<<< 4.5/5

Quote
I was held in suspense all the way through the end credits of The Town and its hard for me to imagine somebody walking away from this film feeling bored. The story, action and characters are all engaging and well-crafted, and if the progression between Gone Baby Gone and this film is any indication, Affleck’s next (third) film is going to likely blow our collective socks off. A good start to the 2010 Fall movie season.

I watched the poster ALONE and I feeling the burst of energy flowing through my brain.
Wanna see this BAD!

As a side note this is the second best poster I seen for 2010...my favorite was the Inception poster.
but nice graphic design IMO

Was a cross between Heat and The Departed. The movie was enjoyable, I definitely recommend it for fans of the genre.

you watched it already.
"acquistion' nah?
lol
I'll wait till it hits theatres
on a sidenote I saw Ben Affleck's previous directorial film, "Gone, Baby Gone" it was really good too.
If the Town is as good as you say (and I anticipate) then he should start directing more

I hate to double post. but i ugre thy fellow gatters to take a chance to take this in. Out of all the films i saw for 2010 thus far, this has got to be the best of the bunch. I'm happy as well for Ben Affleck. I think after this I can respectfully address him as Ben Affleck or even Mr. Affleck and not Beniffer, or Gigli. The guy showed directing and acting chops for this film.
The Town also feature a critically ensemble cast. From the manical back robber played by Jeremy Renner to the hard-to-bulls**** FBI agent played by Jon Hamm (and that's to name a few) The story works really well with BELIEVABLE dialogue and not lousy margarine pasted lines.
Critics state that this movie is like Heat meeting with The Departed, not a bad comment, but not as strong enough comment either. This film stands on its own with the essential set pieces of a good cops and robbers film. My only complaint for this film is that i didn't see it in the states with the hype because I would have threw a positive b**** fit to express even more how much I loved this film. If I give The Town the smae blessings I gave The Hurt Locker last year, lol who knows it may do really well in the Oscars next year. It should, Ben Affleck redeemed himself and hollywood with this masterpiece.

5 out of 5 stars
