According to these articles...it seems that Dead Space 2 is shaping up nicely.

This is one of a very short list of games that had me going 'oh $#1t' repeatedly when I got cornered, or ran out of ammo.  They really nailed the creepy, forever on edge aspect.

A pardner tell me he nearly fling the controller when he encountered the very first Necromorph (the part where you have to run to the elevator).  He couldn't finish it either.  Said it was much too scary, and he heart weak. :laughing7:

...but did y'all actually find it that scary?  I know I did at first, but then eventually that faded.  Still got some nasty 'boo' moments though.  Bastards.

lol @ super freaking out.
Yes the game has its jumpy moments, and the sound design off the charts.
Even on my 4th playthrough of the game...things you knew were going to happen still had the scare effect.
The best thing about this game though is playing on Impossible Mode.
Simply having sufficient ammo was a problem.. Couldn't get any other guns, had to stick to the plasma cutter thing., not too mention the enemies were harder to kill. That and the horror aspect went hand in hand. Survival horror indeed.

Thinking back I so happy I bought this game..I wasn't even going to bother with it.
Was in Best Buy and that night when I walked in they had a special customer appreciation sale, 20% (i think) off all games or something like that LOL.
Dead Space added to shopping cart :P

Yep.  The whole 'team sent to investigate a large ship' bit.  Never made that connection, but now that
you mention it, the similarities are indeed striking.

PC Dead Space 2 killed off....WTMC!!!!
« Reply #15 on: February 10, 2010, 12:43:34 AM »
Quote
Yesterday, the PC edition of Dead Space 2 was curiously absent from Electronic Arts' release calendar for its next fiscal year. Though the console and newly revealed handheld editions of the sci-fi horror game were listed as arriving in the January-March quarter of 2011, the Games for Windows edition--announced just in December--was missing in action.

Unfortunately, like many things that go missing, Dead Space 2 appears to be gone altogether on the PC. Venerable game news site Blue's News is quoting an EA rep as saying, "As of right now a PC SKU is not in the plan." As of press time, the publisher had not responded to requests for clarification from GameSpot.

Dead Space 2's cancellation on the PC comes just a month and a half after it was officially announced as coming to the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. However, the move isn't so shocking, considering the fact that the original Dead Space sold under 40,000 copies at retail on the PC domestically, according to NPD Group figures. NPD figures do not, however, include digital distribution, which makes up an increasingly large slice of PC game sales.

For more on the award-winning original Dead Space, check out GameSpot's video review below.

So what I spending all this money on mih PC for?  :(

This kind of news is disheartening at best.
