Movie of The Year 2009 Award
« on: December 06, 2009, 08:32:06 PM »
In a similar vein as the Game Of The Year 2009 thread.

What are your nominations for the best flick?

Two nominations earns your movie a spot on the poll (to be added later)

Limit of Three nominations.

I'll like to nominate District 9 (Can't get enough Sci Fi but maybe Avatar will topple it, we'll soon see!)

1) Star Trek

2) District 9

New Moon....ok ah just kidding with that one, no way will I ever support such drivel :P ...

3) Up.

However, I hate to give choices just yet, the strongest movies to me are, more often than not, released this month.

I do have a couple other titles to keep an eye out for...but as it stands, those would be my choices.

honestly, the movie i truly enjoyed this year was The Hangover.... cliche story, and of course may not be used in the same sentence as some of the other flicks mentioned here... but it was the only movie i could say i really enjoyed... still laughing some of the sh#t in that movie still.

Man. There were a few really good movies this year. Picking 3 is gonna be hard. But I guess I'll go with....

- Star Trek
- District 9
- The Hangover

Watchmen was mad too, but Hangover was way too funny to overlook. Haven't watched 'Up' yet. Saw Inglorious Basterds last night and hated it. Only the ending was enjoyable IMO. And doh get me started bout Transformers 2 .

Yeah boy, Star Trek is a definite candidate.

I'll have to check out this Hangover movie. lol @ new moon but I'll watch it just to be on the same page with all the sparkle haters.

Plenty days in December left (God Willing). More than enough time to get up to speed before casting that final ballot.

Avatar especially. The trailer garnered luke warm response in MovieTowne today but I'll not count cameron out just yet.

Sigh.

Let the Right One In. GREAT movie, and blows any Stephanie-inspired crap out of the water.  If you are a Twilight/New Moon fan, look at this one.  TORRENT EET!

The Hurt Locker. TORRENT EET!

District 9 (great cult hit, and what you get when Halo is nixed as a movie adaptation)

Star Trek. (Best franchise reboot since Batman Begins)

Up.

This is actually a really good year for movies

2012
loved the action in that movie to death!! and just the tief head

Have to second let the right one in, not sure if that was this year though but absolutely awesome.

Other than that, i think dark knight spoilt the movies for me :( lolz
maybe id have to nominate Watchmen on principle alone since it was a 90% perfect port from page to screen.. although the 10 % changes were significant and absolutely maddening! wtf@ the ending and at making Rorschach kill the guy! steups
