I've not seen anyone mention of UTT in this thread yet.

As far as I am aware they only have an IT MSc available, but I'm waiting to hear of their BSc course to be available..

Anyone have insights?

UTT is a big accreditation mashup. Need to be sure to evaluate their programs on a case by case basis.

Just to revive this thread a bit, I went to the Open day that SBCS had on Saturday 26th June in south as I missed the  one the day before at Long Circular Mall.

I found the information I gathered to be very informative and after chatting with one Dr. Brownrigg (or is it Browning?), I am convinced beyond any doubt to start my degree (Computing & Information Systems) in September.

Is just a matter of saving money... hard... for the next year or so.

God is dead.

I know this post is late but I don't want what happened to me to happen to anyone else.

SAMs = TOTAL REGRET
I personally went there and b/c of a stupid F%$#ing staff member who didn't know her work, me and 12 other students took 4 years to do a 3 yr degree b/c we were giving wrong registration information and wrong deadline dates.

but that's just the beginning, sam's is the worst thing anyone can do to their self.
better you take $60,000.00 put it in a barrel and light it on fire.

Im pretty sure rb asked which University awards the degree, which in SBCS's case its Uni of London.

Yea @ SAMS waste of time. I just thankful I got my degree and im out of there, never have to see the inside of their school again.

its sad that i honestly cant reccommend a single university in trinidad for an IT degree
they are all such waste of time, if they not outdated, they not actually useful for a career improvement
there are of course certs galore
i was wondering about sital and ctsctsl or watever its called, ill look into those.

Meritus university offers online IT degrees to trinidad though, so thats an option.

If you can go to the states for it, western governors university has the best competency based IT degrees in the land.

Come on guys what is this new trend of everyone trying to bite off the others head whenever they make a mistake. She states that her info may be erroneous since time has past since she last checked the schools status.

@ Slaming and Nick

Thing is those should I say core degrees have been accepted from its inception in 1980

('lil History - SBCS opened in 1980 first successful legitimate private tertiary school in Santa Cruz)

seeing that the university of London has only been around what .... 174 years

their degrees have been accepted world wide since before the first world war.....

dunno if you're trying to be Mr nice guyz but i think people should get facts before they start making

statements about things they have no proper or accurate knowledge of

(which is the case of many Trinidadians, it seems Venezuelans as well)

ditto i think O/C took it too personally there....

the point is that it never changed she was wrong from the outset but

i dunno if you didnt understand what i was saying but i won't resort to name calling

cause this isnt a play ground and we're all big people here or i would like to think so

i had to do that and explain about the school so that people would have the right idea

i just feel if you're going to offer advice you should at least know what you're talking about

sorry if it came off in a bad way wasn't the immediate intention but i did get pissed along the way

and i apologise if anyone felt offended......

So how come USC (previously CUC) degree never gets mention :P
It used to be an Andrews degree, but those enrolling from last year start off on the new ACTT accreditation (same as UTT).
That is something people should be aware of, who and where the accreditation comes from.

yea usc is actt accredited which is important, i have a friend who works as an accreditation officer at actt and does all her degrees at USC
and i know some old school CUC IT men, but i not sure how good the IT degrees are really.
The topic areas in IT in trinidad are generally horrible and very out dated and then the sucky implementation on top of that.

Again ill try to find out about sital and ctsctsl thingy or whatever and USC's IT degrees.

http://www.wgu.edu/online_it_degrees/programs

When schools down here start offering IT degrees like these
then id rate them very highly

Apparently you have to be an IT Engineer to benchmark (re Messiah's comments) and you have to do a ton of research and be a smartypants before you post here (according to you).

I cannot believe all this nonsense occurred because I simply post confirmation that I starting my degree.
