No, i was thinking of getting her one, but she had already committed to the older Kindle and has a bunch of books for it already so it was a natural fit, but I was looking at getting either an Android Tablet for myself or an iPad 2, decisions decisions...

Very nice, haven't worn a watch in sometime though. Could go for an ipad nano watch holder but that would make me the office hipster, lol. Not a good stereotype

Well arc all i can tell u is, make sure you never audition the headphones, because if you do, those tiny wires in your brain will start rewiring themselves to apply 'sense' to such expenditure. When you hear how good music, movies, and games can actually sound, 'sense' is the last thing on your mind.

Its why i stay in headphones, speaker alternative to my rig, is 4-5 times the price.

First HiFi Headphones Cost 300$
Second Retail for 1100$ got it for 750$
Just made the jump to these bad boys. I knew it woudl have been better, but they actually surpass my expectations, i wasnt expecting them to sound as good as they do, wasnt expecting it to be THAT much better than my current rig. If i had to do it all over again, Id buy these blindfolded. (Btw ill be selling my old Headphones, Amp, Dac, and PSU soon).

But like i said, unless you actually hear them, for the physical re-wiring in your brain to take place, it will never make sense. When i bought my first hifi headphones, i never thought in a million years id shell 1000$ on a headphones, muchless 2k. But i cant imagine going back, everything else sounds like shit to me now.

Take a look at this video, he talks bout the cans i have, Audez'e LCD-3.

Edit:

Some would say, spending 1000$US on an iphone 4s that going to be outdated in a year is crazy too (im one of those ppl that thinks its ludicrous), but that headphones going to remain amongst d best for years and years to come. Lifespan of audio gear is alot alot alot longer, than other tech, i.e. smartphones/pcs. Its a longterm investment. ( Yes, this has been rehearsed infront of a mirror to justify the cost :) ) Current gear last me 3 years before i wanted to upgrade, hoping this new batch make ah 6-7.

6 - 7 years from a headphones?

That ain't bad

I MIGHT have considered it if they had 5.1 surround for games. (granted that I won lotto to afford it in the first place)

I know it isn't a killer feature in head phones, but at that price I want to have my cake and eat it too.

Yes, one of my headphones i got for around 400$ back in d day (Denon D5000), is still being used by wifey all now, was purchased in july of 2008, in mint condition, and working perfectly. And when i say 6-7 years, that is not because d headphones go spoil by then eh. Thats d timeframe till audio technology advances to d point where it makes sense to upgrade. HiFi headphones can last for years on end no problems. And they have user replaceable leather pads and headbands and cables etc. So if it get old from ware and tear, u can bring them back to new for a few $$. (50$ Leather Pads, 15$ Headband, etc.)

5.1 is overrated boy. I have better positional audio from my headphones, than you will ever get from a 5.1 headphones. All gaming headphones with multi channel surround is gimmick. I could tell u which branch of d tree a man on in them games, and when d leaf he shake fall and hit d ground. Dont let lack of 5.1 deter u, real audio men knows that is shit.
(Unless u running speakers, multichannel makes sense there.) And their is scientific evidence to support d 5.1 headphones crock, as well as personal testing.

Edit:
For 2-400$ u coudl get some judgement hifi headphones, that upgradble with amp and stuff in d future.
Equivilent gaming headphones at the price, sounds like rubbish in comparison. And has no headroom for upgrades.
I did post this on facebook:

Definition of OVERRATED:

Add Gaming Headphones to that list.
